Are confusing model options and limited initial content hurting sales for the PS Vita? GameZone's Matt Liebl thinks something else may be holding back the system.
Misleading title, even the author disagrees with it.
Someone needs to write a article just about the ridiculous Vita articles and list all the crazy ass titles peole are using to get traffic. Should be interesting to see what people have come up with. Its funny how all the Vita titles I seen ends with a "Question mark".
I just hope it finds enough success for developers to continue supporting it, because the line-up of games so far is excellent.
I personally don't see what's confusing about a 3G model and a wi-fi model...but that's just me...
It isn't just you. Unimaginative journalists desperate for hits to advertise less than mediocre sites are behind these pieces. These are the same "PS3 is teh dommed" crowd with which we had to deal a year ago...and the year before...and the year before that. But then again I am unsure why you have an issue with the title since you submitted the article. And there is the fact that all of your submissions are from Gamezone making matters fairly obvious.
" It doesn't matter how great the games are. The Vita caters to a more hardcore audience, but the majority of mobile players are casual gamers who are just as happy playing $1 Angry Birds game for hours." While that might be true gamers not casuals care about the quality of the library. So if the Vita has a ton of great games the core will gobble it up. XperiaRay
I'm liking the launch lineup and hardcore gamers definitley appreciate a food handheld. I just don't think there are enough of us though. I hope the vita doesn't go casual.
price drop then i will get one probably, i dont see the point investing with all the games to play on the handheld, to go home and just play the same games on the ps3?
Im with JACEN100 on this. I would never take the Vita anywhere with me... but I will say, if there's a price drop... Im not ruling it out that I may bite at 1.
I'm open to criticism of the handheld but the device has +Touchscreen + Touch back-panel +Front and Rear Camera +Quad-core prcoessor +Dual Analogs +Excellent launch titles(Most ever for handheld) Really what would developers be waiting for? so they could start harnessing the power of the device and make games? Ofcourse, one of the most important measures for developers to consider is "Mass Adoption" it's that simple. Sony fumbled on a couple of things. - Memory Stick not included(bumps up price) - Holiday release(USA Biggest Market) - NDS 3D didn't start selling well till after price-cut but will end up selling many units. (Red Flag Sony overlooked) It's not doom and gloom but if you are an investor, you would like to see better numbers in Vita's homestate after release.
PS Vita's design and cost seem reasonable except for the Memory Stick pricing, because it is essentially a requirement. The real reason for PS Vita under-performance of selling only 42k it's third week is due to three things: a) The market has drastically shrunk due to smart phones. Plenty of people don't see the need to drag on a handheld, when the phone fills in that little gap of time you have on the bus for 20 mins. b) The low appeal (not to be confused with quality) of the launch games reflected by the fact that not a single game is on the top 10 charts weekly. c) Market and mind share is taken by Nintendo 3DS due to the early release and price cut. It's Xbox 360 early launch vs PS3 late all over again! I thought Sony said they learned.... The source for the third week sales was censored here on n4g.com, but here is the source http://www.joystiq.com/2012...
Are you an investor in Sony? If not how do you know what numbers they were expecting? @ jacen100 your STILL repeating that $hit after all this time? We have all ready gone through this same crap that every game that is on the VITA is not on the PS3 and your STILL saying it? If you can't get current then stay out of the conversation [email protected] lifesanrpg ignore them. Its the same crap they tried with the Move how it is too complicated and won't sell well. Bit 9 million people didn't think so.
I don't know, I'm not a big fan of launching a system with multiple types right off the bat. Release just 1 main system, then filter in the choices in a few months. Also, the memory stick not being included is just unacceptable this day and age.
