When you select the icon on the PlayStation menu, a poppy, harmless beat pumps from the speakers. And in those few seconds, the entire feeling of Scene It? Movie Night: Mega Movies is summarized. The game is candy. It’s a sitcom. There isn’t real depth or a message behind it. Just simple fun; a guilty pleasure.
If you’re a fan of quiz games no doubt you’ve heard of Scene it. Scene It: Movie Night has now been released on the Playstation 3 and xbox 360 but is this party game worth the $10 price point? Or should it just all be fast forwarded through?
Barry from Levelsave.com writes, "I love movies. I love crushing people in movie trivia. Straight up, I love Scene It? games. They’re so straightforward and so readily enjoyable. Not to say that they do anything necessarily amazing or new with new installments, but they’re always a delight. Now this newest installment has come as a downloadable “hub” game to XBLA and PSN. The Mega Movies is just one of many DLC packs coming."
ATemporaryDistraction.com: "While it doesn’t deliver quite as rounded an experience as its full retail predecessors, the concessions that Scene It? Movie Night makes in the leap from DVD board game to disc-based console title to PSN/XBLA game are minimal. In many ways the new digital download format makes the Scene It? series a much more enticing one, packing the same addictive party entertainment of the series in a flashier, but less expensive package without sacrificing any of the fun. If you’re a fan of the Scene It? franchise, or just harbor a fondness for trivia quiz games in general, then Scene It? Movie Night is a great addition to your party game repertoire."
That was a fun read, though the game sounds like it'd get boring pretty quick. Seems like the hanging out with friends part is more appealing than the actual game.
