Mass Effect 3 ending will "make things difficult" for Mass Effect 4

OXM UK: "Giving Mass Effect 3 a rousing finale is more important than paving the ground for Mass Effect 4, according to creative director Casey Hudson, though BioWare does have "a few ideas" for future Mass Effect titles already."

Me3 will probably be disappointing to anybody who played the first mass effect. Bioware has been continually dumbing down the RPG genre ever since they have been bought by EA. Mass effect 1 and DA Origins were developed before they were bought, while the sequels were developed after; there is a clear difference, and not in a good way!

dark-hollow2169d ago

actually, thats didnt bothered me much since the rpg elemnts in mass effect 1 is nothing to write home about.

As a whole package, i thought mass effect 2 was way more intresting.

otherZinc2168d ago

Agreed!

"Cant wait" for Mass Effect 3!

Spitfire_Riggz2169d ago

DA2 bothered me but ME2 didnt. I will make my opinion based on ME3

Solid_Snake372169d ago

They went way too casual with DA2... It was so disappointing not being able to change your companion's armor

Honestly, by this point I've come to accept the fact that ME is no longer an RPG/Shooter, it's just a TPS with very light RPG elements but at the same time, ME2 was great so I can't really complain.

I don't want ME4. I just want a strong, solid trilogy as originally planned. Don't give in to EA's indoctrination. Fight off the urge to milk a franchise into mediocrity.

LoaMcLoa2169d ago

Agreed, some guys just don't know when to stop.

Kinda like every anime-series out there. (Not all, but most of 'em! Especially Bleach)

PandemicPrawn02169d ago

I agree.

Mass Effect was planned as a trilogy and thats how Bioware should see it out.

ME4 would be rubbish anyway.

Detoxx2168d ago

Why would it be rubbish? Look at ME3, it looks amazing.. And you think ME4 would be rubbish, LOL

Indiana Jones & the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.....

Get what I'm saying?

The Mass Effect universe is vast and there are many stories to tell. Why cut everything short with a trilogy? it doesn't even need to be Shepard.

Prophet-Gamer2168d ago (Edited 2168d ago )

A Spin-Off, imo, would be great. Bioware has created such a great universe, why not make the most of it? As long as the quality and fun is there, I'll keep buying.

*spoiler alert*

I wouldn't mind seeing what the crew did will shepard was dead for two years.

no_more_heroes2169d ago

Me too, but would there be enough compelling content to warrant a whole game? I'd probably be more comfortable with it coming as DLC, like RAAM's Shadow for Gears 3.

-Metal Gear Solid 1-4 taught us that no story, no matter how bizarre it gets, is impossible... :)

AngelicIceDiamond2169d ago (Edited 2169d ago )

Making it all the more challenging for themselves, interesting. Well after this they'll have some time to think about the 4th Mass Effect and how to appropriately program it for the Next gen Consoles.
