TGH: Snakebyte Wireless Bluetooth Controller Review

TGH Writes: Does anyone remember what the Playstation 3 controllers looked like when they were first announced? Take a look here, not very bad but everyone criticized it for looking like a prop from Batman. Wait, i thought Sony disabled 3rd party controllers that used the usb port after the hacking scene? Can someone explain?

Fylus2152d ago

I don't know but I bought a 3rd party Xbox controller (with said USB port) for my PS3 literally just last week :\

Maybe it doesnt work for some controllers? I remember reading alot of articles here on N4G about people ranting about it

Fylus2152d ago

Who knows. I don't really think it's a big deal anyways.

Probably only 3rd controllers with a permanent wires. This one comes with an ordinary USB to Mini USB wire. Nothing wrong with that?

A shame it has that cheating turbo button...

SactoGamer2152d ago

Is that why my Nyko Raven seems to have stopped working?

ShadyDevil2152d ago

Maybe they get away with it by changing minute (that correct spelling?) details. Either way the controller above is pretty solid. Still reminds me of the Original PS3 Boomerang controllers.

I thought Sony doesn't allow 3rd party to use Bluetooth for game controllers?

Or some 3rd party controller makers simply ignore it and sneak in a Bluetooth controller. There was a 3rd party Rapid Fire controller that used Bluetooth but it didn't last long on the market before discontinued. I wonder if Sony has something to do with it.

The potential dead zone is just about the only thing I'm concerned about.
