2011: A Year In FPS Disappointment

From Strategyinformer.com: "Well, so that was 2011 then, and here at the end of all things it’s customary to look back over the past 12 months and see how it all went. I remember chatting with some mates last December about the best FPS of 2010 and we struggled to think of one (eventually plumping for the flawed but atmospheric Metro 2033). Oh well, we thought, at least 2011’s looking pretty exciting so far. I agree, Gears 3 and UC3 were much better

until HL3 I think TPS has it in the bag

Deus Ex: Human Revolution isn't mentioned, it was really good. The big complaint seemed to be with the bosses - not sure why as you can win in literally seconds if you bomb them..

The complaint for bosses is because they only allow a direct attack. Deus Ex:Human Revolution had several different ways to complete missions, but boss fights only allowed one way.

Edit: Well yeah, but it sucked to play stealthy to avoid firefights and then get forced into one.

Ah, fair point. Well.. at least you could kill them in a bunch of different ways!

I only really disagree with Killzone 3 & RAGE. While the latter wasn't quite as good as I expected, it's a good game in it's own right. RAGE created a foundation for id to improve upon and I expect just that.

As for Killzone 3's sales, if you've been paying attention, the numbers are not that far behind KZ2 (and it was actually selling better than it in the same time frame at one point).

Did they not mention Resistance 3?
