Interview: What Has The Writer Of Folklore Been Up To?

Siliconera: Last month, we covered a visual novel by the name of A Scar of the Doll, released on the iPhone for $1. The game, written by Child-Dream founder, Hidehisa Miyashita, is available in English and is about a girl named Asumi, attempting to track her sister down in Tokyo after she disappears.

One thing led to another, and we had a brief chat with Miyashita-san via e-mail about his company, what he thinks of the games market, and what his plans for the future are.

We also discovered Miyashita the writer behind Folklore on the PlayStation 3, and worked with the now defunct Game Republic on the title. (Child-Dream, Folklore, Hidehisa Miyashita, PC, PS3, Steam, Xbox 360)

sony is bringing 100 years old games to psn , why they dont bring Heavenly Sword and Folklore with trophies and ps move support ? talking about reviving franchises , i keep hearing Heavenly Sword 2 will be announced soon so what better way to create some hype before that to bring it to psn with trophies and ps move support for $29.99 - $24.99

I agree, Folklore's game play is just shouting for a Move support and it definitely needs to come to PSN, along with Heavy Rain.

Folklore is a great action RPG, those who missed it can get a classic for a bargain.

edit: just bought the game, its well rated by users.

Folklore is a great game. I even had one of the devs answer my question on the EU PS site.

and a Move supported re-release sounds like a great Idea. Even I would consider trying that.

Game Republic went out of business this year and they made the first one, Sony could put someone else on it as they most likely own the IP but I don't see it happening.

Move support would work really well though with the game, it would be nice to see it get re-released.

Cant believe this. I really liked Game Republic. Folklore despite its age is one of the most polished, beautiful and colorful games on a console. Majin and forsaken kingdom wasnt that nice since I guess they had to make the game for two consoles. Knight's contract was killed by bad reviews.

I too loved Game Republic's games, including even Knights Contract. Fans shouldn't miss Genji Days of the Blade, their second favourite of mine, right next to Folklore.

3D + Move support + Trophies = So Much Win.
