Wiiloveit.com: Avoiding a Repeat With Wii U

"The importance of the Wii U fitting in with Nintendo's core values is something I touched on in yesterday's feature. Stemming from that discussion on the state of the Wii, I think it'll also interesting to see how the Wii U fares as the 3DS grows stronger next year." -- Wiiloveit.com (3DS, Nintendo, Steel Diver, Super Mario 3D Land, Wii, Wii U)

The 3DS showed Nintendo that price can be an issue
The Wii U's launch price should correlate with its tech (bonus for consumers if it's within affordable range).

it wasn't the price that had the 3ds a rough start, it was the software lineup

Both played a factor when you think about it.

i think Nintendo got a bit arrogant after having success with the wii they thought they could throw anything out there and people would lap it up, and they didn't.
most people have been confused (at first) by what nintendo was actually trying to sell, 3DS was it just a ds with a 3D screen was the wii u just a new controller for the wii?
they had an arrogance about them, that was quickly brought down to earth when people started to question their sensibilities. now they have done a (wii) U turn they can see where their heads are at and finally come to some sense in their market strategy.

I for one cant wait for the wii u. just hope they get it right.

That's an interesting point of view. I personally never saw their attitude as arrogant, but I think I see what you mean. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
