I'm waiting for a patch as well. I am one of those people who gets annoyed by quest glitches and the fact that I grabbed the elder scroll and completed the main story before returning the lexington made me go a bit nuts knowing that the quest would become stuck with the guy saying to come back later, which he never ever finishes.

Several of my quest been bugged, installing/uninstall and going back to previous save points isn't helping.

Main Storyline quest bugged
Companion quest bugged
Thieves Guild quest bugged
Some other quest are bugged just as well.
Not only that but this dead dragon keep popping out of nowhere when I go to Whiterun.

A bug I usually see is dragons flying super slow. Luckily I can still kill them.

They're still some dragons every now and then flying like they are retard or something, even after the update. Its funny until I get close to them and the game start lagging or when I'm one shot away from kill them and they fly to opposite side of skyrim.

I know oblivion had its own problems but man this....is getting somewhat annoying.

I have amost finished the 360 version and for the mostb partbit plays well. I have only had one issue with the companions quest where a npc guard keeps folowing me and I served my time in marthl and I am still wanted for the same crime no matterif I pay or go to jail. Other than that I have had a blast playing the 360 version but I do feel for the people who only have the ps3 to play it on as Bethesda owes them quite an apology dating back a few games as well as several other devs. If the game can't run on the ps3 correctly then don't support that platform as I'm sure one of sonys many developers can fill the void.

It's not so hard. Pretty much all of the quest lines can be "the game" if you want them to be. They all start the same. After they end, nothing has changed. People still want to kill Ulfric's boys. The dragons are scaring everyone. Arrows still seek out the knees of adventurers.

I finish the main story and only got three trophy's left, just the The thieves guild is a pain (Got to do five missions in set city to get one to finish it). Keeps giving me ones to the city's I have finish.

I have about 25 hours in and most of the time was spent loading or traveling to the next load screen.

Only reason I made it that far was to make it through mage school.

I think Skyrim is a great game. Hours of content, great lore, well crafted world with some great gameplay ideas. But, it's overrated to the extreme. Why? The execution of said good points isn't up to scratch, and the only people who seem to be hailing it as the second coming of christ are people that don't play RPG's. If people wouldn't pound me with insults and disagree's, I'd like to explain why I think this.

Skyrim's problem is quantity over quality. There's over 150 dungeons, but whats the point of them when the vast majority look the same, have the same persistent animal pillar puzzles, same swinging door traps, same bandit/vampire/undead enemies and the same loot? They're linearity is almost as bad as Final Fantasy XIII's and Bethesda has tried to mask that with a few locked doors and branching paths which lead to pots of about 3 gold? This also feeds into the same problems the quests have. Aside from the main and guild quest lines, the rest are just fetch quests which again, are uninspired and have limited real reward. Anyone can stuff hundreds of fetch quests into a game. Doesn't make them any better than say 50 set side quests in a smaller RPG.

Secondly, the world is bland and far too big. I don't mind a big world, but when the art direction is generic and uninspired, with loads of throwaway farms and villages that serve no real purpose, and all look the same, it becomes a problem. Apart from the Northern Lights and certain cities like Solitude, Skyrim's lack of unique art direction really grates me, considering how amazingly crafted the worlds lore is. How are smaller studio's like CD Projekt and From Software nailing unique fantasy worlds and Bethesda, a big budget hype generating studio, unable to make anything but a bland, generic, seen it before fantasy world?

Thirdly, the melee combat is atrocious and well below par. If anyone finds it acceptable, then I'm worried. The hit boxes are awful, and the clunky nature of the controls, coupled with the lack of depth clearly created as a result of trying to cater to 1st person view almost stopped me from enjoying the game. But the magic and blocking system is fun.

Overall I think Skyrim is a great game. It's one of the better games I've played this year, but I'm not sure how people can claim people overhyped Uncharted 3 or Battlefield 3, when Skyrim is not only overhyped, but overrated. As far as I can tell, a lot of the key problems that ravaged Oblivion are still there. Bethesda would be wise to put quality over quantity next time. Skyrim is ambitious. But with ambition comes the need to strive for better quality. Skyrim's cut and paste content clearly shows the opposite.

So from me Skyrim, so far, gets a 7/10. That may change when I get further in the game. But as a big fan of the RPG genre in its entirety, I'm not impressed.

I'll agree with you, only because many and MANY people here on n4g and the Internet sites turn a huge blind to the faults present within a game like skyrim.

First of all i'm nearing the 30 hour mark on the game and I love how big the world feels, I'll have to say that it feels real, however, a bit empty at times. You would think that you could find plenty of "adventurers" out there or caravans or idk what have you. Its practically Fallout 3 but with vegetation and dragons. There is practically no way to talk to people take a few steps in that direction BOOM bear wants to kill you. Go into a cave Falmer want to kill you. Walk around the middle of the night without night eye/ torch and (this happen to me last night) run into three massive bears. The world feels like its out to kill me, which would be fine if it wasn't for no reason at all. Furthermore, I don't feel like I have much of an impact on the world. Its kinda ridiculous.

There is definitely plenty that could have been greatly improved. Let the player have a bigger impact. I thought RPG had lots of dialogue involved that isn't the case here. Anyways I have been fortunate enough thus far to not run into game/quest breaking glitches. But i know plenty of people are not happy with the bugs. I would have to say 8/10 for me thus far.

I see so many people say its a 10 just because "its soo big and theres soo much to do" but everything you can do is generic, repetitive, adds no value to the game, and is glitchy. Then then crappy combat system just kills it for me and sends me back to Dark souls when I want an rpg

I have hit a few low points but I think I have broken it up pretty well into different quest plots,achievements, etc. Each time I get down, I begin something I have put off on purpose. I'm 180 hrs in which may b the misting a game since the early final fantasies. I will say though that if i haven't finished it by kingdoms of amalur, it goes on the shelf. Maybe even ff13-2, not sure yet. I was 20 hrs into Batman when my ps3 died or i may have been playing that. I want to so badly but don't wanna replay it, not because of the story replay but the 12-15 hours spent on fiddler trophies.

Been playing BF3 pretty much nonstop now for couple weeks. Only have touched Skyrim for a couple of hours. Dead Island is only 30 bucks at Gamestop right now, never played that might give it a shot.

I haven't played BF3 since Skyrim came out. I've got the PC (for me) and PS3 (for my son) versions of Skyrim, and the difference is dramatic. The graphics, load times, and stability are SO much better on the PC version! I wish you consolers having problems could experience it the way it should be, because it is a phenomenal game.

I keep switching of between skyrim and oblivion. But the thing is....I swear I'm still at the begining of both games, I've had oblivion for a few months, I'm still on the first mission, the kovatch mission for the oblivion gate not kidding. I got skyrim about 4 or 5 days ago, still at the very begining of that game also. Like for me....I cant focus on the main story line because I keep adding mods. I'll eventualy get through skyrim tho, but oblivion idk if I'll ever finish that game :/. Too many things I can add to the game...really there is too many things.. I cant stop adding things. Its like crack and I'm a crackhead. Not kidding, its bad. I cant stop..ugggg gonna add some more mods today....idk what, but I'm gonna look around....

Edit: oh and I play oblivion every day just about....and uhh random question but I have a radeon hd 2 gig 6950 graphics card rite....ok, could someone tell me whyyyyy in the world does this card run skyrim at max settings 60fps locked..but It cant run oblivion without going below 40 fps at times?? How does that make any sense? I have graphics mods yeah, but it was lagging before that and still doesn't ammout to skyrim, :/ wth is up with that??? Can someone tell me wats up wif this card...hey I heard the drivers for the ati cards were messed up...I'm a crackhead.. :/. I finished it , but realize it is broken to the point of many people which is unbelievable for a game of the year game. Also I have not wanted to play it again since I got the pokemon effect from it that everyone will complete it and there really is only one way to do every quest just allowing you to do which quest you want to do. I personally have been enjoying Dark Souls more and have not played skyrim in a good amount of time,but enjoyed my hours.

I'm a little OCD when it comes to RPG's I like (Fallout 3 springs to mind) - I can't tear myself away until I know ALL of the quests have been completed, and I've seen every single point of interest, and picked up every single unique weapon. So while there's no doubt in my mind that I will complete all of the Main, Side, Companion, and Guild quests, I am more than a little worried about the fact that the game pumps out infinite quests.

I did have my first issue with lag - lasted all of 10 seconds, affected nothing so no problem. I always found (in FO3 / NV at least) that when it started to lag, LET GO OF THE CONTROLLER. The times I kept my fingers on the buttons / triggers, that was when it crashed. When I stopped the input, it would normally fix itself in a few seconds, which still seems to be the case (at least over here on my 360).

I have to admit I haven't touched Skyrim in a while even though it's my game of the year. There's only so much you can do of anything before you need to take a break. I did the same thing with Oblivion, couldn't touch it for months then felt like playing it again one day and didn't stop until Skyrim came out. I haven't really been in much of a gaming mood at all recently but I'm gonna try and replay Deus ex HR or MGS4 or something similarly futuristic soon to try and cleanse my pallette from all the medieval fantasy stuff.

I like RPG's but like how they've evolved. I find this game infinitely more enjoyable than any other RPG that comes to mind. The only other company making RPG's of this caliber is Bioware.

I've just bought Two Worlds II after playing Skyrim for nearly 2 months solid on PC. It doesn't match Oblivion's passion or feeling. This whole concept of these 'Dragons' didn't really make me feel on edge like walking into the Planes of Oblivion did. It's a hollow back story but it makes up for that with mechanics and detail (PC prospective). This little break should help me then I'll most likely finish off all other michellanous quests. It's a brilliant game no doubt. But not GOTY IMO.

Skyrim is beyond game of the year to me. It's one of the best gaming experience I've ever had. In my 100+ hours of playtime on a 360, I've experienced only minor bugs that were easily fixed by loading past game saves. People complain too often about little things. The game is an imaginative masterwork that fully integrates several elements into a cohesive, wonderfully realized whole. Everything has purpose that folds back into the overall experience: hunting to harvest leather and boost smithing, mining to find ore to create ingots, catching butterflies, etc. Also, the game's pacing is perfect because it peels back layer upon layer of its world while at the same time empowering you with new perks and abilities. I plan to do and see everything I can in its world. Games like this just don't come around often.

I don't know about the 360 or PC, but for the PS3 it should have been delayed for several months if not a whole year.

The game can never be finished...like the devs said. I just finish the main quest line and all other guild/faction quest lines, gain around 100K in gold and then I wait for future questline DLC. I would say I'm done as of right now.
