Co-op: it's the New Wave of multiplayer. For most of the '90s, online co-op was something gaming fanatics clamoured after, but developers shied away because "no one ever plays it". That's all changed.
Co-op is never wrong!
there is nothing like a real friend backing you up in a fire fight. The article states that when it (co-op option) ruins a game it sucks... well no sh*t, but that, by faar, doesn't mean that we don't need more co-op. Co-op Rainbow Six : awesome, Co-op Gears: awesome.
I agree. There is not enough Co-op games out there and why wouldn't you want to get the most out of your 60 bucks.
wow. i think this guy is plain whining. lemme see. real life person or computer AI. now thats a hard one. ::rolleyes:: plus, that Halo 3 reference he made about "missing out on crap blowing up".....huh? soooo...you wont see crap blow up if you didnt play co-op? and then Guild Wars? who give a crap about the other ppl. if your playing the game because you wanna see the storyline and cut scenes, then watch them. who gives two craps about them?! ive played online games with friends for the last 5 years. online co-op IS the way of the future and throw in Ventrilo or another type of chat VOIP, and you got yourself a hit. ive had more fun playing online the last 5 years then all 9 other years of my gaming life combined. throw in a friend to joke, bs and play with, priceless.
The Game im most looking forward too in 2008 is kinda like only co-op. Left for Dead is looking amazing and its kinda only co-op.
Too Much Co-Op games? It is actually Too MANY Co-Op Games.
Hahaha thank you man, I was just about to say that.
What a shame, sorry for the mistake... thanks HBK619
It's ok bro. The community college offers remedial english classes. LOL Im just screwing with you man.
What in god's name are you talking about, if anything we need MORE, MUCH MUCH MORE!
pretty asian girl
My friends love us some online co-op, and if a quality game has it - well, we'll ALL buy it - even if it is a genre of us isn't really interested in. For example, my bro-in-law primarily plays realistic tactical shooters - Clancy games, but he picked up Gears and Halo 3 for the online co-op.
me and my fiance are constantly looking for co-op games to play together, but there's not much out there. we ultimately end up playing dungeon crawlers (ie, Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, X-Men Legends, etc), and games like Lego Star Wars. we played Resistance for a bit, but we haven't in a while. she prefers 3rd person games over shooters. what she really wants, is a co-op game like Oblivion (her favorite game at the moment), so we can play together. so far, most co-op games are shooters. it's a bit annoying, really. i don't care for online co-op, but it'd be nice if there were some games me and my roommates and my fiance could play that *WASN'T Champions of Norrath and it's ilk.
@ 6 There are a few older games i know of that are co-op like the tales games. Me and my brother and girl friend played tales of Symphonia for a while and the Star Ocean games let a friend fight the battles with you as well. I hope that new Golden axe game has this like its predecessor. BTW, this story made me instantly think "Army of Two!?"
but i don't have a Gamecube anymore, so i can't play the Tales games (unless there's one on the PS2 that i don't know about). we were thinking about Star Ocean, and we may pick it up. thanks!
cooperative games are usually the popular franchises in the industry and they are always fun to play with partners
we need more and longer co op games fasho
This guy is an Idiot... It should be why so few Co-Op games, we need more and more. Why COD4 dint have it is pathetic. I've had fun playing Halo3 and Gears in co-op and expect more and more fps and other genre coming up with co-op.
not enough co op...at least not enough done right
