5 Video Games With the Worst Bugs of 2011

It's not easy to make a video game, and it's certainly not easy to make a game that is free from bugs. Developers only have a limited amount of time to exterminate any game bugs and glitches before it's forced to be released to the world, and oftentimes, there will be a few they'll slip out unnoticed until it's too late. Sometimes these bugs are hilarious. Sometimes they're just downright strange. And unfortunately, they can often ruin an entire gameplay experience.

With video games becoming more complicated to develop over time, the bugs that accompany these games will become more apparent....or hilarious. The following is a look at five of the most notable video game bugs and glitches of 2011. (Battlefield 3, Dark Souls, Dead Island, PC, PS3, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Wii, Xbox 360)

WWE '12 had way more glitches than Battlefield 3. Before the first patch, it was a complete mess.

invisible level glitch
I found it in GoW CoO in the Origins Collection. I thought that I went to the wrong path but that's the only way to move froward but there just nothing with fire in the background. walk several steps and Kratos fell down and died!

Bethesda needs new game testers. It's unfortunate that every game of theirs this generation is shipped with a multitude of bugs and glitches.

Some of the bugs should of been spotted, no doubt about it. But you simply cannot game test enough to find them all. With millions of gamers sinking hundreds of hours in each, it's not possible to experience everything within a controlled environment that said gamers will encounter at home.

And lets not forget those 'gamers' who go to get lengths just to find these bugs. Many of which most consumers will not see.

Rage for the PC is still totally screwed up. Everytime you get close to the beautiful textures on pc, it looks all pixelated. Dead Island was really messed up though.

The textures in Rage aren't a bug though...it's just plain 'ol shitty textures.

*gasp* a bethesda game made this list? say it ain't so!
I sure am enjoying it, though.

There is one at the beginning of Battlefield were the dudes go from one building to another using a piece of wood, after crossing it the dude will knock it over. After he knocks it over you can go back to the previous building walking through the air lol.

At least Nintendo fixed the bug

how common is the Skyward Sword bug? is it something most people would experience, or do you have to do a bunch of specific stuff to make it occur?

i didn't know there was a bug in Twilight Princess. i played through it with no problems.

You have to do some specific things to trigger the Skyward Sword bug.

There's an article on N4G somewhere that has a rundown of what people are doing that triggers the bug.

"the promised bonus for PS3 owners, Battlefield 1943, was not included with the game"
How is that considered a glitch?
Well anyways we've got the Battlefield 1943 already.

Heres my top 3 games with worst bugs...

1.Skyrim- Ps3 Freezes.

2.Oblivion- Broken quest Vampire Cure quest if you have GOTY or Shivering Isle Add on. Only on Ps3 since the Ps3 version comes packed with Patch 1.2 and never got any of the other patches that it needed to fix this issue.

3.Fallout 3

There's a trend here.

Yeah I'm noticing the trend of great rpgs.

made by one of the best developers in the world. But problems get overlooked.
kasser  +   1218d ago
Trend of keeping buying games from the same company even if they are also your top "worst" ?

Seems like you enjoy them :)

I am honestly sick of people considering great games as one of the most buggy ones on the planet. Bugs and exploits will always be there and it is always expected specially with new/updated game engines. If you wanna see a buggy games go play something like Sword of the Stars II.
xX-StolenSoul-Xx  +   1218d ago
Bugs can be overlooked if the amount of content is insane. Simple as that.

Crazy how Nintendo can't patch their games like the other systems can.
What were they thinking?
Squadron40Dive  +   1218d ago
Obviously this is another person who thinks their are game journalist, but really its his sad attempt or his overseers decision to write an article bashing BF3. The author of this shit could have made a long list of glitches for Skyrim or Dark souls, but choose to give the BF3 list because? Because he is a BF3 hater and obviously hasn't played since the beta that picture he put in there is from the beta and so are most of the glitches he named, so to the Author, GO FUCK YOUR SELF with a Ten foot pole you bitch!

with the pc version, I'm around 60 hours in, some 8 hours sessions in there, and I would play even more if i didn't have to work so much, I've never seen a single bug, not one.

The reason? The game was made on pc with the expectation of there being next gen consoles by the time it shipped, todd howard even came out and said this in a roundabout way.

http://www.nowgamer.com/new...

...but the game was done on pc, so they cut and shrunk what they could, dropped the textures way down, removed all anti aliasing, killed the draw distance, but honestly, it still wasn't enough, the game is a mess on console.

it's perfect on pc, not a single issue
