According to Sony's senior director of corporate communications, Patrick Seybold, the cancelation is not a real thing. "This is not true." It doesn't get much clearer than that.
Now that was a fast! Good to know! :D Now GameStop explain yourselves for almost giving me a heart attack! >:(
YAAAAAAAAY!!! Glad it wasn't cancelled. Edit: Lol @ the random disagrees everyone is getting. Some loyalist must be mad about this news.
Shame on VGChartz for jumping the gun like that based on an Amazon email about their pre-order
According to you though, Kotaku only reports bad SONY news
Another reason to hate Gamestop. FFFFFUUUUU GS!!!
they are really pushing it right now, i think i will start looking online for games more often because of their antics and that its cheaper online usually.
The game might not be cancelled, but it might be in limbo. After all when the "creator" leaves their children hanging, there must be some major disagreement. Sony must be searching for a replacement? Game is most definitely delayed with GameStop pulling the title from their system and the loss of the most important employee. It's sad, because the little I saw of it looked very interesting.
I've worked with retail before and as far as I know, you never remove an item because your not sure of its release date, especially when there is no official cancellation from the manufacturer and when customers have already started placing pre-orders for it. Either someone made a mistake or someone isn't telling the truth here. But either way I'm taking the actions of GameStop with a grain of salt since their incorrect PS Vita memory pricing doesn't help build any credibility on their end. So I'll take the official announcement for now.
'The game might not be cancelled, but it might be in limbo. After all when the "creator" leaves their children hanging, there must be some major disagreement.' yea well.. when jaffe left sony and left god of war 3 in middle of production, the game came out pretty well and jaffe said he supports sony all the way even after his leave. game informer gave it a perfect 10/10
http://uk.ps3.ign.com/artic... I was an error The game hasn't been cancelled check out IGN.
No! The game will come, it has to. It may have some creative conflicts, but there's no way I can see Sony dropping it
And so does gamestop http://uk.ps3.ign.com/artic...
I see a lawsuit against Gamestop for this incident
YES!!! my Heart is on place now!!!
I didn't know it was supposed to be. This is a game I really doubt they would cancel, there's a lot of people waiting for this.
Likely is just a name change if anything, thats why it was removed.
Good. We need games like this.
Don't even joke about that I'll kill someone.
It would truly break my heart if it was canceled.
That was fast lol
hell yes!!!!!! thx god this was bull.
My reaction : http://www.youtube.com/watc...
thats the fastest Sony has responded to something. also I can't wait for The Last Guardian :)
Gamestop refusing to take money,hmmmm
Fools!!!! The Last Guardian will NEVER die, NEVER be cancelled, NEVER be undone. The Last Guardian is eternal
I don't get this. Why are these false rumours being spread round? The Last Guardian is Ueda's baby that he has been developing and investing his time and emotions in for 5+ years. There's no way that Ueda would leave his game hanging. "Ueda announced that he would be leaving Sony as of December 2011, but would remain committed towards the completion of The Last Guardian through a contract with the company".
Stop playing with my emotions!
That didn't seem right. I was assuming GS was wrong, and as per usual, they were.
I'm not sure what to think of this game. When people leave a project, especially producers and such, it's usually not a good sign.
At this rate it might as well be cancelled. It's taking this long to make this game. Why? I don't like it when developers show games way too early getting the gamers excited then it takes forever to release or potentially is never released at all.
With everything going on with Team Ico I wouldn't be surprised if this does happen in the future. But Sony definitely was quick to deny the claims. Curious what happened with GameStop still though. Everything on their site about The Last Guardian just disappeared.
What happened to Japan's game companies? They've been losing lead designers left and right. Makes me wonder about the conditions they're under while making these games.
-sigh- It's not the first time that a game that has been delayed indefinitely was no longer available for reserve(at least temporarily).
