3DS Expected To Cross Four Million Mark By Year End (In Japan)

3DS is on track to cross the four million mark in Japanese domestic sales by the end of the year, Nikkei reported today.

Nikkei sourced statistics from Enterbrain, a separate tracker from Media Create (which we use for our our sales data). For the third week of December (12/12 to 12/18), Enterbrain reported 390,000 units sold for the 3DS (a bit higher than the 360,000 units Media Create reported). Undoubtably.

But gamble it one step further: Can it reach 5 million?

If 390K comes from Japan, and if they are at 3.6 million, can NA + Europe + Other regions make up enough to reach just under or around 5 million?

Especially with no Vita competition + Big Exclusives + Christmas

5 million? What are you talking about? They are at 3.6 million in just Japan, they are at 9.7 million worldwide right now. Or maybe I misunderstood your statement

No more doom and gloom here

Now the Vita will get it than the Wii U than the console after that and so forth

Its sad when people want to see a company fail.

Nintendo ended 2011 with a bang. Great job.

isn't over yet, sales of X-mas still have yet to come for everyone.

i find Decomber to be more interesting than golden month of gaming (november).

This is good to know, especially with all the great games coming for the system in 2012. They proved the haters wrong. All it took were some key franchises and they're back in the green. For gamings sake I hope the Vita finds the same success. The haters need to be proved wrong that handheld gaming isn't going anywhere.
