Controversial carnage: a history of video game violence

PCA: "Violence has always formed a cornerstone of human entertainment. For proof, just look at the gladiatorial mosh pits of Ancient Rome or the claret-spilling climax to Shakespeare's Hamlet. As a race, we like the red stuff and we don't care who knows it.

The video game industry is quite well aware of this fact -- and like an axe-murderer grasping a severed head, it has taken the concept and run with it." (Arcade, PC, PS3, Retro, Xbox 360)

How could you possibly make this list and forget about soldier of fortune 2? That is the goriest game I have ever played. Every single fps to this day is tame compared to that.
