NetherRealm NOT putting the Mortal Kombat franchise on hiatus

Warp Zoned writes:

"Instead, the famed developer has revealed, via his Twitter account, that NetherRealm Studios will begin a two-pronged development schedule, working on the next Mortal Kombat game (which, per a WB Games profile in the LA Times, will be released in 2013) and other non-Mortal Kombat projects." (Mortal Kombat, PS3, Xbox 360)
