Capcom and the Decline of Resident Evil

Before undead nightmares in the Wild West, flesh-eating hoards in first-person shooters and being left for dead over Xbox Live, there was Resident Evil. Once some of the best games in the industry, there’s no denying one of Capcom’s most prominent franchises has lost its essence.

decline of RE????????????

wait soooo, a bunch of people don't like 1 of the 5 main entries and this means the series is going declining? what the hell? anyone even seen a revelations trailer? it looks great, and re5 was still fun aslong as u played it with another person. albiet the worst RE main entry, it doesn't suck.

it seems to me everyone wanted it to stay with fixed camera's no aiming, tons of load screens with every door you opened, have it stay a puzzle game with tons of backtracking, make zombies optional all with current gen graphics......sounds retarded.

some complained about the scare factor, thats fine, i never thought RE or any game or movie was ever scary so that didn't affect me, but atmosphere in 5 def wasn't a scaryish one.

now i played Deadspace 1 and 2 on hard, and those are the easiest horror games i've ever played, it was still clunky, thankfully the necro's were so damn slow, and the melee in one was useless, 2 it was overpower, you could literally just whale around through enemies killing them all.

*shrugs i still enjoy me some RE (dunno bout operation racoon city though) but re5 is one of my fav games this gen, beaten 4 times with my fiance. but to each his own

Look what Capcom did to RE 5.... Its basically RE4 with a new skin in a next gen console. That should tell you pretty much about Capcom's new policy with the Resi franchise. And dont even get me started on OP: RC

Look at Devil May Cry, DMC4 was not as praised as DMC3 so they outsource it.

THAT'S IT! if a game starts to fall they just ship it out, that ways its not their fault... Must be a new policy.
