Dang!

Since MS said 960k for the Black Friday, I though around 1.3-1.4 million would have reasonable estimate, but it kicked @ss at 1.7 million.

Congrats to MS!
Dlacy13g  +   944d ago
@lelo2play... how is it you get disagree's?

A little fact to all the disagree kiddies... 1.7million consoles means about $338million dollars... as in a lot of $$$.
darthv72  +   944d ago
Dlacy...
he got disagrees for making a positive remark towards MS.

In all fairness, all 3 did a bang up job in November. There will be lots of happy gamers on xmas morning.

Those $199 sales for the 250GB holiday bundle were hard to pass up. Heck, I bought a new one despite my launch 360 still running.
Brutallyhonest  +   944d ago
Me too.
Picked one up at Best Buy with 2 more copies of Forza 4. Now I'm turning laps on a triple panel display.
Brutallyhonest  +   943d ago
Would the desperate fools pounding disagree like to see pics of my Black Friday purchase? I picked up a 360 slim 250g, 2 copies of Forza 4 and 3 46" 1080p LED displays. Any takers that would like to challenge my honesty and back it with some cash?

1.7 million.... Good lord that is a huge month. Congrats to MS... I honestly didn't expect this.

Even crazzier is by just how much it crushed compared to the rest of the competition. I mean MS just destroyed everything in Nov. PS3 appears to be closest at around 900k given they claimed a 70% sales increase YoY. Fuzzy math for sure on the PS3 but still...even if the PS3 was at a full Million...that is a 700k unit gap! Just amazing numbers for MS.

edit: LOLz... gotta love getting the disagree's on N4G. I smell angry Sony fanboy... but who knows, maybe its people thinking that outselling the competition by more than 700k units isnt that amazing for a 6yr old system?

I'm thinking it's the people that disagree about the PS3 numbers. They probably thought (hoped?) it did worst in the U.S.
El_Barto  +   944d ago
Those are damn great sales, I cant believe the Xbox 360 is still seeing it's best numbers ever. Just goes to show exclusives only matter to N4G people...lol

In all seriousness it just proves how great the 3rd party games have been, Skyrim, Batman, Portal, Assassins Creed ext.....

Congrats to Microsoft, epic month.

"Just goes to show exclusives only matter to N4G people...lol"

And gamers that love more games. Don't let me interrupt your right to embrace stagnation. Carry on!
YodaCracker  +   944d ago
Funny, because each and every year the Xbox 360 sees more game releases than any other console, from multiplatform, indie, and Kinect titles, to exclusive, Arcade, and PC/360 titles. This is simply a fact.
Biggest  +   943d ago
I don't disagree with that. I was responding to El_Barto's insinuation that the 360's lack of exclusives is a good thing.

Also: Xbox 360 - 488 games in 2011
PS3 - 515 games in 2011
*Both lists have TONS of repeat games (same game released in different regions) but for some reason the X360 list has repeats of repeats, which pad the total number. An example would be in the month of November you'll see "Just Dance Kids" listed twice for X360 and once for PS3. I guess this means that I disagree with the that I previously said I would not disagree with. At least this year the X360 does not have more releases than the PS3. Your fact is not a fact.

actually that list is wrong missing dl games and it list different regions as separate games

indie to xbla and its another story

If the wii stays low 360 could be number 1 in NA

I love how the comments in this article are getting downvoted. I guess some people are mad about sales?

N4G, you never cease to amaze me with what you're willing to get upset about.
radphil  +   944d ago
What's more funny is that you see people flock to this one with the congrats, but when you see the Sony or Nintendo ones people are just going "meh".

What's up with that N4G? Shouldn't you congratulate all of them for having an excellent month?

Apparently it's too much to ask for equality on this site.

Xbox had its biggest October and now its biggest november.

Wii use to do those numbers, then it took an arrow in the knee.
YodaCracker  +   944d ago
Numbers for all three consoles are:

360 - 1,700,000
PS3 - 900,000
Wii - 860,000

http://neogaf.net/forum/sho...

If that is not complete Xbox 360 domination, then I don't know what is. It almost sold as much as the PS3 and Wii combined. I'm almost afraid to see next month's numbers. The worldwide gap could be well past 4 million again by the start of 2012.

It's crazy how the PS3 always sells consistently through the early months of the year, ever so slightly outselling the 360 each month. Then the holiday months come and the 360 quickly cancels out any lead the PS3 gained earlier in the year. And now that the Wii is no longer much competition at all, the 360 can really take center stage.

cancels out any lead? you mean like in 2009 and 2010? when the ps3 sold 2 mill less than the 360 but still outsold it for the years?

Well done Microsoft.
