VANQUISH and the Best of All Possible Worlds

Vanquish is how Mikami would like Gears of War to be: with the sense of camaraderie replaced by the individual capability of doing awesome things, like sliding with rocket jets and firing in slow motion. These mechanisms add an incredible amount of fluidity to the genre. You don’t just “cover and shoot”, oh no! You shoot from cover, slide towards the enemy, body slam it and, while you are still in the air, bouncing from that body slam, you slow down time and shoot the heads of all remaining droids.

Does that sound intense? Vanquish has no expository moments. It has no pacing. It’s a roller-coaster ride, sure. But this roller-coaster has no turns or ascents. You start from the highest point and then fall…and fall…and keep falling…and then the game is over. It’s exhausting, really. (PS3, Vanquish, Xbox 360) -

Great game, underrated and on of the best games of the year.

By the time the current systems are permanently abandoned, Vanquish will probably be regarded as THE underrated gem of the generation.

Seeing as how it came out in November 2010 I'd say it was one of the best games of last year. I picked it up at a midnight launch.

SIMPLY BRILLIANT.

This game is so underrated it's criminal. I can honestly say it's one of the best games I've played this gen, and it saddens me to think there may not be a sequel.

Yup. And at the end when it kicks it up to 11, jeez. It's sick.

Everyone should try it.

I saw a Vanquish Article, did not read it, logged in, commented and boom nothing else to see here, logged out^^

Absolutely one of the best games I ever played!

It's the ultimate shooter... Gameplay is fulfilling like strawberry pie with ice cream... but there is too much of it! Now I have a belly-ache because I couldn't stop eating.

Definitely deserves a sequel though. Imagine Vanquish sans its problems.

:D you guys make me happy! I was thinking I was the only one thinking that this game was brilliant, now I know I'm not crazy

I'm hoping to get it tomorrow. It looks like something I could play.

I just beaten the game, and LOL @ the President offing herself in the end. With quick-time events at certain instances and the sliding mechanic, Vanquish was certainly not your average shooter game.
