"Overview - It was Black Friday in the USA this week, which is considered the first day of the holiday shopping season there. Sales, both hardware and software, went through the roof. Just about all of the biggest games of the season have already come out. Mario Kart 7 (3DS) and Star Wars: The Old Republic (PC) are the only exceptions. WWE ’12 is this week’s biggest debut with combined sales of 615,000.
Software milestones this week: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (Wii) passes one million sold; Kinect Adventures (X360) reaches the 12 million mark; Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (X360) shoots past eight million; Just Dance 3 (Wii) passes the two million mark; Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (PS3) flies by the six million mark; Assassin’s Creed: Revelations (PS3) passed one million sold; and Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary (X360) passes the one million mark.
Hardware sales are not only up across the board week on week but have more than doubled. Year on year sales are up overall, but are down for Wii, DS and PSP. Hardware milestones this week: The Xbox 360 passes the 59 million mark, 3DS passes the eight million mark and the PlayStation 3 passes the 56 million mark."
