"nerfed the IRNV so it is now only effective at close range" well, it's real life application is for long range engagements, and it's clear that DICE understood that to begin with, as they made it almost like a sniper scope with no peripheral view outside of the scope lens and sway requiring you to hold your breath for accuracy.. But I guess now for long range engagements I'll have to use my...red dot sight? I haven't tried it with the nerf yet, but I hope it's not as useless as it sounds. thanks for catering to the whining babies that dont understand tactical gameplay by nerfing and modifying everything they complain about.
How do they define "close range"? I always thought the whole point of the INRV was to spot camping scumbags and the like. The thing has no value at short distances.
exactly... btw look at the video how shitty their solution is... now you see ghosts instead they would for example make some gradient change of colors for further enemies... this showed me, that the logic of Dice is pretty flawed :( dumb developers really (and no, i'm no COD fanboy, always played BF games from the beginning, but all these BF3 bugs and "nerfing" is just bad...)
Would have made more sense to make the INRV only work at LONG range, and nerf its short range effectiveness. I can't help but feel like the people complaining most about it were snipe-campers who like to hide 300 yards out on the periphery of the maps who hated being seen. The INRV only made that a slightly more elementary task...I'm still gonna find them and take their dogtags. What will they complain about, then? I mean, they ALREADY have motion sensors and claymores and spawn beacons...do they want special extra-large helmets, arm floaties, and r*pe whistles as well?
Youre right, they should have nerfed the close range effectiveness of the IRNV and let it remain for long distance engagements. And the irony of the whole thing is that Battlefield is a game where the player typically sees more mid to long range engagements given the size of the maps and the style of play, than they do close range. Also, don't all the guns already have like 4-5 types of mid to close range optics? For many of my classes I've unlocked the Holo sight, reflex sight("red-dot"), 3.5x holo, 4x ACOG, PKA Holo... aren't all of those classified as mid-to-close range optics?
They change weapons to adhere to authenticity of weapons, but a cannon shot from a AA on a human is reduced, a thermal night vision scope is severly limited to short range? It hasn't even been a year and I may move on to a new fps game. What next? Tank shells can't hurt jeeps for crap, fix that. It should nuke them in one shot not disable them. An A-10's main gun GAU8 avenger should decimate a tank, I mean isn't that authentic? It doesn't do it for crap in the game. I can go on and on about the nerfing in this game. But I got work to do in the bf3 forums cause here it doesn't serve any purpose but venting.
the stinger missile take forever to lock on and fire. why do the heli have infinite flares/fuel. i shot a missile they flare as fast as i shoot. WTF! i have only 3 to 5 missile but their flares are infinite it is darn near impossible to take a heli down from the ground. the heli is the EAGLE in the sky in this game... WTF! i played in matches where two heli spawn traped my team... this games has alot of balancing issues....
