"Like Getting a Whole New Xbox": New Xbox Live Dashboard

Kotaku: The number-crunchers at Microsoft know the reasons you turn off your Xbox 360. It's to surf videos on YouTube, to tune in a pay-per-view fight or to catch the new episode of a TV show you want to watch as soon as it airs. Being Microsoft, they don't want you turning off their console. The new dashboard update being pushed out to all 360s this week is their bet to keep you plugged into Xbox Live for as long as possible.

The story is too old to be commented.

Why is there another 20 or so hours to go? It was to be released on Tuesday 6 December. It is now Tuesday 6 December.

Tuesday release doesn't specify the time. Since every other release on every Tuesday for the past few years now is done around 10am-noon, prolly a safe bet that's when this one will happen. Let me guess, you were one of those "are we there yet" kids. p

Nope I don't actually care as I have to go to work. But Buzz response to LX was it will be another 20 hours, implying it would be Wed 7 Dec instead of Tue 6 Dec. Just curious if he had any actual information or if he was just trying to be a smartazz.

Microsoft focusing on services should give non-gamers more reasons to buy an Xbox instead of Appletv. This should make them a lot of money since they already snatched the casuals from the Wii with Kinect and those same people will invest in those services.

Does anyone know if I change my xbox's clock to a different time zone if I will receive the update sooner?

They can tell where your 360 is located by the IP address...

No, that won't work. I've tried that for an older update. :p
