Assassins Creed to be a Yearly Franchise

It shouldn’t come out as a surprise to many of Assassins Creed fans. The amazing franchise is here to stay and will be coming out with a new installment in their franchise by the end of 2012. Most probably in November. Ubisoft released it’s latest chapter in the story of Ezio(AC : 2 Protagonist) with Assassins Creed Revelations and it has been announced that it is the last game to feature Ezio Auditore da Firenze and the final game to be set in the Renaissance era.

I was interested to follow the story and was planning to get the 1st 2 games. Now that it's released every year, there is no way in hell I will be able to catch up anymore. So yeah, minus 1 series for me to follow

1,2,brotherhood,revalations and 3 are all the same story line after 3 will be a new story

Hmmm .. Egypt or China. Interesting.

I enjoy AC but honestly it doesn't need to be.

Ezio20482122d ago

i agree mate.
i would want Ubisoft to take ample time like Rockstar (for GTA) and come up with something that blows away all other games!

Intentions2122d ago

Yeah I agree.

Did anyone else think that AC:R was the shortest AC game to date? Or is it only me :S

Eamon2122d ago

Yep I agree. And before I was a supporter of the yearly cycle.

While Brotherhood really was a great next instalment in the series, Revelations was a bit lame.

However, there is a rumour that Assassin's Creed III was being developed at the same time as Assassin's Creed Revelations.

To further back this rumour, check out the names of developers in charge of ACR and compare it to AC1, AC2 and ACB. Very different list of names.

I do hope it's true because ACR was a bit of a let down and I want AC3 to be as big as a breakthrough or more than AC2.

The quote in the article doesn't say "AC will be a yearly franchise" and Ubisoft claimed a little while ago that after ACIII they will take bigger breaks between AC games. Not saying I take everything they say as gospel but just pointing that out.

Fishy Fingers2122d ago

Ah, Ubi have been reaffirming their stance lately, that they will, in future, take more time between games.
