The Final Verdict on Super Sony Smash Bros.

MyNiritori - "I’m sure everyone remembers the initial tease at the existence of Sony-made Smash Bros earlier this month. Paul Gale Network officially made the announcement, and it sent the gaming community into a frenzy of speculation. People were spewing about whether the game existed, what characters they wanted to see in it, and anything else they could grasp their mind upon. All the while, I was sitting here in my college dorm room thinking: “there is no way in hell this is true. Even if it is, I want nothing to do with it.”" (PS3)

If that is the best you have for proof then I am not convinced.@ MoXxXi I understand but the fact that Sony didn't hand the game to one of their top developers doesn't necessarily mean that the game will automatically tank. That is not how business works. You can't just take everyone away from what they are doing to work on a single game.

Secondly, no one ever said it is going to be made to 'rival SSB'. This is for the PlayStation fans, not the Nintendo fans. Even if it is anything like SSB which we don't even know it is, that doesn't make it a 'rival' Just like people seem to think Gears ans UC are direct rivals because they both are TPS.

An lastly I am not sure why everyone seems to think that the game has to be fashioned around a more realistic seeing seeing that several of Sony's characters are not even human or cartoony e.g. Pararpaa the Rapper, Sackboy, Sly, Jak, Ratchet,Sir Dan. And if they add in Crash and Spyro even more so. So what, because its not magical puff balls or androgynous elves or pocket monsters that automatically makes it less appealing?

It's an opinion piece, bud. Not trying to convince you of anything, I'm just sharing my opinion on a topic that is relevant to the gaming industry at the moment.

So you just like hearing yourself talk?
MoXxXi  +   533d ago
Apparently that seems to be the consensus :D

Thats the gaming journalism business, though! Not everyone likes your opinions, and some articles are going to get hate. Cant win em all, I guess :P

Its not rather people like your opinion or not its rather or not your opinion was well thought out(which it wasnt) ... this is not gaming journalism this is dude in bedroom on laptop ranting about a game he knows nothing about.

Silly me, I thought opinion pieces were intended to welcome and spark debate. Maybe to bring to light some nuances or perspectives heretofore unconsidered, through said debate, and possibly sway one's opinion (you know the whole convince thing). Otherwise what's the point other than, well, enjoying the sound of your own voice.

Gaming journalism becomes more an oxymoron with each passing day.
