What is this, the 80's again? Next thing you know, we'll be seeing "Nintendo: Buns of steel", featuring a Mii version of Sally Struthers...

Seriously, give me a G*d damn break! Are people really that damn lazy that they can't go outside? If they can find the time to sit at home and make themselves look like a fool, they can go to they gym or head on down to their local park or recreation area and actually do a service to themselves.

In other news, i'm glad the PS3 is selling so well, though I wish PS3 owners would get out and buy more games. It's rather bad to see the PS3 high on the sales charts, but no games even breaking the top 10 here in the US. At least PS3 owners get a game in the top 20...

Excuse my rant!

its a new product plus its nintendo so expect high sales but could really backfire on nintendo. making simple games with wii fit wnt captivate the audience for very long expect them to start lookin for another gimmick to toss on us

Ummm... you do know that the majority of these sales are in Tokyo, right?

Try going out in the street there and jogging and see how far you get.

Even outside of Tokyo, Japan's population density and real estate shortage make outdoor fitness very difficult. Then there's winter...

Seriously, the whole "go outside" thing is a nice line to espouse hatred for wii fit, but it really doesn't hold up this time of year or in Japan.

I think these numbers aren't that bad for the PS3, either. The Wii took over - with Wii fit. But the PS3 remained at around 50K. I predict, that the PS3 is back on top again next week when Wii fit is an old hat. All of a sudden the Wii needs a new product to outsell the PS3. And it did not with a huge margin, its rather close. So we'll see how that looks after Wii-fit wears off.

I agree, though, that people should start buying PS3 games. OTHO, I think it needs a critical mass (total install base) to really push games into the top ten. And the games as well. If the PS3 keeps selling that good, this will be reached pretty soon, I'd guess. In the US, the relation of sold games to total (hw) units sold is about the same with the 360, which usually means, 50% of game sales for the PS3 (e.g. Assasins Creed 178k vs. 90k). But for some games, the PS3 is already closer, and especially in Europe, some multiplatform titles sell better on the PS3 then on 360 already (Need for Speed: 100K PS3 vs. 82K 360, and CoD4 87K PS3 vs. 105K 360,... ) with 3.5Mio 360s vs. 2Mio PS3. Ain't looking that bad for the PS3 at all, IMO.

could be between 100,000-200,000... estimates are stupid

...from VG Chartz.

So let me summarize it to save all the trouble for everyone:

A) 33% of the posts will describe how inaccurate VG Chartz is
B) 33% of the posts will pro-Sony spin the numbers
C) 33% of the last posts will be from the pro-MS corner claiming everything outside the US doesn't matter
D) While 0% of Nintendo fans care enough to respond

Wash, rinse, and repeat

You wouldn't find a modern Nintendo fan on a gaming website, it takes more than a minute to create an account, and at that point they are done with the fad to begin with.

Why did Round Peg tip himself?

Fighter3552d ago

If someone else beats him to this story then he still gets some points as the tipper. Just look at his total and you'll see why he's winning right now.

double post

EDIT: @below

Bathyj3552d ago

What do you get for double posts? ;) Kiddin'

paul_war3552d ago (Edited 3552d ago )

It just happens some times, happened to me & I don't know how. Don't worry though you don't get any extra points for it!
