Samsung Develops Fastest GDDR5 Memory at Six Gigabits per Second - World's Fastest Memory

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., the world leader in advanced memory technology and the leading producer of high-end graphics memory, announced today that it has developed the world's fastest memory, a GDDR5 (series five, graphics double-data-rate memory) chip that can transfer data at six gigabits per second, which is more than four times faster than that of memories in state-of-the-art game consoles today.

planing to make their own video game console.....this is not a rumor..i saw on G4. if they come out with a console, it would definitely be my pick, especially with this hardware going in to it...

The last few things I bought that were Samsung were electronics, so they are very similiar to Sony. They will basically be the exact opposite to MS, since to my knowledge they don't own any big software development studios. If they do make a gaming console, it might be interesting.

Seeing how expensive the standalone DDR3 memories are right now I can only imagine how many organs would be for a memory of GDDR5 -_-

wow. its 3 times faster than the transfer rate of xdr ram. quite impressive. 28GB/s as opposed to 9.6GB/s. but yeah charlie, DDR3 is ridiculously expensive as is.. ddr5 will probably be an ear and a teste..
