having my gamer score in 3d for everyone to see is a step up from text based achievements.. it makes you people think wow whats that that you recieved... and then the examine it and they are like oh you got that from doing 10 stealth kills in uncharted. or you got that medal from blowing up 5 warhawks with the RPG on land... it's gonna be interested.Epic even has some plans for home with UT3 so it really will be awesome. the achievements thing worked for the 360, hopefully developers will be encouraged to do something like this once the resources become available in form of devkits. it'll be interesting what devs show out in 3d for for there games.

With this Chritmas new users(millions) and next holiday seasons(will sale even much better next year in reality)....With Playsation Home being released with heavy advertisement... with really big online games like Little Big Planet, Killzone 2, Metal Gear Online, Haze, Unreal Tournament 3, Gran Turismo 5, Resistance 2 and really those just sale systems. Home was originally being developed for playstation 2. It's just not many people were aware of the project.

In fact, a big reason sony developed that external hard drive (the one you all use for final fantasy 11) is because of HOME.

But for whatever reason, they decided to scratch ps2 development of HOME and redo it for the ps3, which in turn left final fantasy 11 as the ONLY game that made any real use out of the hard drive.

I really don't mind paying £2 something a month for XBL. The service is great and I do enjoy it, moving over to 3D does not always = WIN or better for that matter. When did people ever say the same thing from moving over from 2D graphics to 3D?

Will Home be more of a hassle to get to the content and stuff that you want? or will it make it easier?

XBL is easy to use and look around, I can get content easily and quickly with a few clicks of a button on my controller. Why should I go into an app just to access content through a 3D world? PSN EU store is a joke and its annoying, Sony can make it better but they keep on giving alot of the content to either Japan or USA, we pay more for a console yet we recieve less.

2 pounds a month add up. so you just cant disregard it, To me its a shame that you buy a game at full price and cant play online unless u pay 50$ for xbl what a ripoff. If u havent pay attention at home the psp viewer is a quick launch to all the services. So if waiting 5 sec for a better 3d aspect is not for you than u can use it directly from XMB. Again its an option not a necessaity .

And PS3 gives you that option. If you look at the ign, gamespot, 1up lobbies the idea of clan and friends , home will enchance it to the other level. I cant wait to have my Appart set up as a clan room with UTIII pics and my personal PWND playing in the background.

I really do think Home would be too much of a hassle, and not many people will use it at the end of the day. One promise of next gen. consoles is multiplayer gaming like you have never seen before.Not virtual socializing, Leave that to Second life, facebook or what have you please!
It really has to be integrated well to nail it. Sony is taking a big risk here. What the Ps3 needs is a well thought out interface, an improved version of Xboxlive to add to their current interface( By the way im not praising xbox live in any way) where you talk to real people not avatars, where you will have to select from a list of expressions to communicate

Home has three ways to communicate. 1 way is the selections of emotions (emoticons), the 2nd is through keyboard chat, and the last is talking directly through mic. So you will be able to talk to real people bro.

Home, Eye Toy, Wi-fi etc have been done before. Neither the PS3 or 360 are innovate for thay matter, they are just an evoultion of what has been done before. The Wii controller is something which is innovated and has not been done properly before, many will point to MS doing the same for the PC in 1998 or something like that. The PS3 also has rumble, USB, Wif-fi, DVD playback as well so are you saying that the PS3 is not that innovate.

I do like the fact that people create mods and and user created content, most of it can be crap while you do get the few gems which are awesome. Achievements and trophies are pretty much the same thing, people will become addicated to them.

I personally don't think that Home is going to be that great, I did enjoy Habbo/Second Life etc when I was younger but I regret the fact that I spend so much time in a crappy 3D/2D world. I do believe that user created content should be the next step for consoles but please do not bring a facebook crap to the consoles.

I want to access information quickly and easily, If I want to my clan to meetup then I can send them messages, use a forum etc.

I love all the consoles that I owned, XBL could be called innovated if you want. I just don't see why people are moaning about paying £2 something a month, really is it that expensive? You spent probaly £425 on a PS3 yet you moan about paying £2 a month lol. I'm 16 and I can afford it and so could you. The PSP, DS, Wii and PS3 online services are not the best, PC gaming service is better and so is 360's. In reality, clans and other people pay £20 or something a month just for a deadicated server.

I can't wait to try out home. I'm new to the whole online multiplayer thing. I have a PS3 and love to play Resistance online. I also love The Darkness and getting the accomplishments in that game. Getting what the Xbox guys (and gals) have had for the last 5 years would be great. Better late then never, but it had better be good.

Agree with mag and beast, Zone u fail to realize that based on your views that nothing should be considered innovative everything that makes up the 360 is something that has already been accomplished. The ps3 on the other hand is new tech/Blue ray and the Cell, which enables a console to do things that they couldnt do in the past. Also you mentioned u wouldnt want facebook on ur console the new dashboard update for the 360 is exactly what they are trying to do make it like facebook. Also i rather see my achievements than look at a number. I could care less about sum dumb ass number. Now a trophy I can see and show off is much more better.

Also like they been trying to tell you Home is optional and FREE. If you prefer going all the way to your pc going on a forum and doing it that way go ahead dont slight it because you prefer to do things in a different way. There's a lot of potential for greatness in Home but also there's gonna be trouble! The whole 'user created' media and characters along with their interaction will definitely be one of the most popular features, but I don't think the best way to demonstrate this is to create an avatar which is an virtual version of a convicted of child sex abuser!

Sure this happens everwhere - generally on the internet, but we're talking about a selective audience that includes lots of young gamers.

If an adult hooked up with an underage kid through Home, it would be horrifically bad publicity for Sony. It just needs controls to try and stop this sort of thing happening - and generally maybe a feedback system that makes it easy to ban players who act like jackasses, post offensive material or try and befriend young kids.
