The companies behind Call of Duty and World of Warcraft are merging in a deal which could shake up the global video games industry.
Does this mean that Call of Duty 5 is going to be a MMORPG Shooter? lol
But WoW sucks its mainly for nerds. Why this will mees the industry up
yea say that to the 10 million people that play, once you play WoW, you never comeback.
So much irony coming from a FF fan...jesus this is the biggest example of irony I have ever seen!
For real, WoW may not be for you, but I cant believe you would call someone who plays it a nerd. You are a FF fan LOL. I have never played WoW, but I love Starcraft and Warcraft 3. Blizzard is a great company that puts a lot of care into QA and makes great games. I hope this merger doesnt ruin that.
it will run well on a ps3 and 360.
those WoW nerds arent going to like this....theyll say ...IT B OUR INTERNETZ...YOU STAY 2 CONSOLE..NOW ATTACK DRUID
if you type world of warcarft butt sucking lifeless stupid idiot on google. It will say did you mean nerd.
I wonder what you would have to type to bring up fanboy. find out on GT
Because you don't like game doesn't mean the people who play the game and enjoy are nerds or idiots.
Everyone has there own tastes.
Big big news!
I'm really interested to see how this plays out.
...mmorpg guitar hero anyone? maybe that would beat rock band ;)
Christ thats alot of money!
Hows this going to change the games we get?
so how long until WoW is on consoles?
Not as big as you would expect, its only the publishers doing a merger not the actual development studios.
Neither the Warcraft nor the CoD series are likely to change from this move.
WOW O.o well i just hope the don't start changing names later on like what happened to poor Irrational games turning into 2K Boston/Australia cuz I don't think no one wants legendary Blizzard to be changed to Activision California or something >.>
EDIT: yeah its gonna be caled Activision Blizzard -_-
Both Blizzard and Activision in terms of 3rd parties and developers are large enough as it is. The last I heard, Activision had taken the crown as largest 3rd party from EA earlier this year. Blizzard is Mammoth in the PC world. The company formed by these two giants could possible rape all other 3rd parties and rule the world! Ha ha ha ha ha... UGH! This could be interesting and fun if not terrifying.
I don't get what was the point of them merging. Both are well off without it. I wander will we some of blizzards games on consoles now.
Damn there are a lot of mergers and acquisitions going on lately, give it 4 or 5 years and there will only be 6-8 games companies in the world.
It is big news though and I never saw it coming, $3bn in the bank too, I wondr who or what they will be buying with that?
well, everything that blizzard touches is gold. so i'm not complaining. even though they're mainly into the RTS and mmo genres
just hope that activision doesnt ruin them. In fact, i think they wont, cause they're better than EA.
big money in gaming now and to expensive to run by yourself for most companies....
I don't know about this. Big mergers seldom work out. Something from one of the key franchises for both companies is going to be missing. Merging is not always a good thing...
WOOOOOOOOW. This is BIG. Activision and Vivendo!? If they pull it off, the industry would change forever. If they fail, the industry still would change. I don't know what more to say except wishing them and their devs the best.
lol people who think blizzard will bother with consoles are dreaming, Vendi just sits back and lets Blizzard do as they please
Actiblizzard orrr blizzardvision hmmm
I'm hoping one of these days, one of these developers puts out a great sci-fi mmo. I'm not into the fantasy stuff that seems to be common these days (and Star Wars is most definitely fantasy). I'd like to see an EVE Online or a Homeworld type game online for consoles. Now that would be cool.
New company, its called Activizzard
wow thats huge
well whats the next move?
Blizzard and Activision has formed the largest guild in gaming history! They will cast DOTs on all the remaining n00b guilds (development groups). And what doesn't die from the DOTs, will get sniped.
Didnt EA recently say that big mergers like this are a thing of the past? and didn't they "EA" just buy two big developers? I bet they meant "big mergers" with them are a thing in the past because they are broke.
