Ubisoft may have released a patch for the PS3 version of Assassin's Creed but unfortunately a number of gamers are reporting that the patch did nothing for them and the game is still freezing in various places.

Just the freezing or other issue's aswell?

I remember reading somewhere that the newly added Information Board caused the freezing issue's when activated. Dunno if that's true though.

Your internet connection has an influence over how long it takes the info board to load announcements. If its slow (internet connection) it can cause freezing or major slowdown.

I... guess the PS3 is just poorly built. I have often heard of a 33% failure ra.... oh wait... that's not PS3

Was the occasional freezin! Played it for a few hours last night and no problems

Dante82053883d ago

no kidding! thats what happens when you poorly port a game...the games always gonna freeze and always have horrible...horrible framerate issues..i dont really care anymore...i bought it...i played it...i beat it..i liked im gonna go buy uncharted son!

it is really good, also you have the unlockables like weapons select, infinite ammo, speed up, slow mo, super slow mo, one shot kills, and others, when you get enough points that is. not to mention finding all 60 treasures

Information Bar being the problem is a myth, I had the game for 1 week and it froze on my numerous amounts of time, with or without the Info Bar, Psn Logged in or any other stuff that apparently affected the game. Glad i got a refund to be honest.

Its not the firmware, Sony system settings, its the game! - Its just not finished.

Wether you acknowledge the Problems or not ; I.E

Frame rate/Screen tearing
And various other crap.

This game could have used a couple more months testing and development, as both i feel went out the window on the PS3 as Christmas was looming.

To coin a phrase, with regards to the patch, YOU CANNOT POLISH SH*T!

Kratosnake3883d ago

really now? you're declaring Asassin's Creed as "$HIT"? Oh well, sucks to be a gaming developer these days. I feel sorry for those guys, if they have to cater to fans like you.

Kyur4ThePain3883d ago

Come now. While I do agree with you on some level, would you feel sorry for Ford if you bought a car from them that stalled every so often?
No, you'd be ramming your foot down their throats to get them to fix the issue.
I'm not saying we should all be going crazy @ss on the devs, but there is obviously some level of dissatisfaction.

On a personal note, the only time I've ever had AC freeze on me if when I left it paused for a long time...I've never had it freeze while playing.
And even though there might be some issues here and there and the missions / tasks seem repetitive, I still really enjoy it.

Lol, ok.

And I`m not a `Fan`, i think thats quite obvious. However my opinion is my own, i`m not telling you what to think. Am i allowed to perhaps voice my opinion if its not the same as yours?

I don`t speak for the gaming community, i speak for myself, i was not happy with the product i paid for.

Kratosnake3883d ago

Some of you guys need to check your facts before blowing hot air on subjects. The PS3 version was not a port, don't you remember it was a PS3 exclusive back in the day.

As far as freezing issues: I'm tired of some gamers with really loud voices speaking for the entire gaming community. Truth is, some gamers might have had issues with the game, but that is not a common thing amongst all gamers.

zaything3883d ago (Edited 3883d ago )

this game was never a ps3 exclusive this game began as project assassins for the 360 ubi was always gunna make multi platform but it development on this on started on the 360 before the 360 was released and at a time where there were no ps3 dev kits. Making it still a port.
@ below me
"The news settles one of the hottest topics in the gaming world this year, as debate over whether or not the game was sneaking onto the Xbox 360 in addition to the PlayStation 3 raged. Though initially announced at Microsoft's X05 event as Project Assassins in 2005,"
and there's the link
"Ubisoft was ready to celebrate the culmination of nearly four years of development time. " That would start it at 2003 hmmm what dev kits would most likely be around then I wonder

Bubbles for you segamer

Oh sh*t, here we go AGAIN!!!

You know where you can all shove your so called "facts"?

If you're not providing links to facts, shut the f*ck up.

Edit: See, it wasn't so hard to add links, was it?

Dannagar3883d ago (Edited 3883d ago )

@harv052, The fact that Assassin's Creed was birthed on the Xbox 360 has been well documented. Most of the Media had seen early version running on Xbox 360 hardware well before its official announcement. That is pretty much why the media was dumbfounded when it was only announced as a Playstation 3 title (at the time). I don't think it's zaything fault that you were sick the 2 months that it was constantly talked about within the media.

harv0523883d ago

I never said he was wrong...Where did you read that in my post? He just didn't provide links to his "facts" at first but has now added them, which is the way it should always be done when providing "facts"...
