Ubisoft may have released a patch for the PS3 version of Assassin's Creed but unfortunately a number of gamers are reporting that the patch did nothing for them and the game is still freezing in various places.
Just the freezing or other issue's aswell?
I remember reading somewhere that the newly added Information Board caused the freezing issue's when activated. Dunno if that's true though.
Your internet connection has an influence over how long it takes the info board to load announcements. If its slow (internet connection) it can cause freezing or major slowdown.
THE ISSUE ISNT ASSASIN'S CREED. THE ISSUE IS THE PS3 BEING AN UTTER CHEAP PIECE OF DEVELOPMENT GARBAGE. BTW HOME ISNT FREE, U PAY FOR IT INDIRECTLY WHEN U GOT SUCKERED INTO PAYING THE RIDICULOUS PRICE FOR A CRAP SYSTEM.
I... guess the PS3 is just poorly built. I have often heard of a 33% failure ra.... oh wait... that's not PS3
Was the occasional freezin! Played it for a few hours last night and no problems
no kidding! thats what happens when you poorly port a game...the games always gonna freeze and always have horrible...horrible framerate issues..i dont really care anymore...i bought it...i played it...i beat it..i liked it...whatever...now im gonna go buy uncharted son!
it is really good, also you have the unlockables like weapons select, infinite ammo, speed up, slow mo, super slow mo, one shot kills, and others, when you get enough points that is. not to mention finding all 60 treasures
Information Bar being the problem is a myth, I had the game for 1 week and it froze on my numerous amounts of time, with or without the Info Bar, Psn Logged in or any other stuff that apparently affected the game. Glad i got a refund to be honest.
Its not the firmware, Sony system settings, its the game! - Its just not finished.
Wether you acknowledge the Problems or not ; I.E
Frame rate/Screen tearing
And various other crap.
This game could have used a couple more months testing and development, as both i feel went out the window on the PS3 as Christmas was looming.
To coin a phrase, with regards to the patch, YOU CANNOT POLISH SH*T!
really now? you're declaring Asassin's Creed as "$HIT"? Oh well, sucks to be a gaming developer these days. I feel sorry for those guys, if they have to cater to fans like you.
Come now. While I do agree with you on some level, would you feel sorry for Ford if you bought a car from them that stalled every so often?
No, you'd be ramming your foot down their throats to get them to fix the issue.
I'm not saying we should all be going crazy @ss on the devs, but there is obviously some level of dissatisfaction.
On a personal note, the only time I've ever had AC freeze on me if when I left it paused for a long time...I've never had it freeze while playing.
And even though there might be some issues here and there and the missions / tasks seem repetitive, I still really enjoy it.
And I`m not a `Fan`, i think thats quite obvious. However my opinion is my own, i`m not telling you what to think. Am i allowed to perhaps voice my opinion if its not the same as yours?
I don`t speak for the gaming community, i speak for myself, i was not happy with the product i paid for.
Some of you guys need to check your facts before blowing hot air on subjects. The PS3 version was not a port, don't you remember it was a PS3 exclusive back in the day.
As far as freezing issues: I'm tired of some gamers with really loud voices speaking for the entire gaming community. Truth is, some gamers might have had issues with the game, but that is not a common thing amongst all gamers.
this game was never a ps3 exclusive this game began as project assassins for the 360 ubi was always gunna make multi platform but it development on this on started on the 360 before the 360 was released and at a time where there were no ps3 dev kits. Making it still a port.
@ below me
"The news settles one of the hottest topics in the gaming world this year, as debate over whether or not the game was sneaking onto the Xbox 360 in addition to the PlayStation 3 raged. Though initially announced at Microsoft's X05 event as Project Assassins in 2005,"
http://www.gamespot.com/xbo... and there's the link
"Ubisoft was ready to celebrate the culmination of nearly four years of development time. " That would start it at 2003 hmmm what dev kits would most likely be around then I wonder
Bubbles for you segamer
Oh sh*t, here we go AGAIN!!!
You know where you can all shove your so called "facts"?
If you're not providing links to facts, shut the f*ck up.
Edit: See, it wasn't so hard to add links, was it?
@harv052, The fact that Assassin's Creed was birthed on the Xbox 360 has been well documented. Most of the Media had seen early version running on Xbox 360 hardware well before its official announcement. That is pretty much why the media was dumbfounded when it was only announced as a Playstation 3 title (at the time). I don't think it's zaything fault that you were sick the 2 months that it was constantly talked about within the media.
I never said he was wrong...Where did you read that in my post? He just didn't provide links to his "facts" at first but has now added them, which is the way it should always be done when providing "facts"...
The only problem I had with the 360 version is finding one of my marks.
Me nor my buddies that own this have yet to experience a problem with the title as of YET!
People love this game...I want to get it also...
It really looks like they have reached the potential of the PS3. All game if not most run horrible compared to the Xbox 360. No doubt that the StutterStation 3 nick name is legit. Looks like PS3 developers will have to port Wii games in order for it to run properly.
This is horrible for PS3 owners to see the potential of the PS3 reached within 1 year of the console released. Got to be a record.
Why do you even post here? You know everything you say is a lie and you need to be banded from this site!
The PS3 has done much more in its first year than the Xbox 360 did in its first year...all the xbox 360 got in its first year was gears of war and nothing else exclusive for the box has come out to beat that yet...
The PS3 got Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank, Heavenly Sword, Resistance, Motorstorm, UT3, and Warhawk...and got an awesome multiplayform game COD4...which is as good on the PS3 as on the Xbox 360...
All of this was in the first year...
Resistance 2 and Killzone 2 and Socom PS3 and MGS4 and Final Fantasy 13 and Infamous and GT5 are comming in year 2...What did you get in year 2? Halo 3, Mass Effect, and Bioshock..
While there is no evidence that this guy knows what he's talking about when it comes to the PS3, the 360 had much more in its first year than Gears of War. Dead Rising and Saints Row were both very good games that released within the first year, and it didn't take a full year from the system's release to get them like everything releasing for the PS3 now.
Don't call this guy a liar when in comes to the PS3 if you are going to turn around and do the same thing concerning the 360.
Have you programmed for the ps3? How can you 100% know it has reach its full capability?
Yeah...shut the f*ck up...
And yet, 95% of the games released on both systems, the 360 version trumps the PS3 version. Even COD 4 is better on the 360.
The PS3 is horrible design for video games, but a decent Bluray player, that can't even support java applets. As of now, the PS3 is one of the better Bluray players, but doesn't even support full Bluray capabilities.
Besides that, the PS3 is turning out to be a rather lackluster gaming console, horrible online, and horrible ports, horrible ports, thats why not many people are wasting their money on one. Why would one waste money on one when the 360 has so many more games to play?
No matter which way you slice or dice it, the PS3 is wwwaaaayyyyyyyyyy behind in sales. And it ain't gonna change anytime soon.
The PS3 can't even run Orange Box without stuttering like an idiot. A game that runs as smooth as butter on the 360. Face it, PS3 hasn't even come out to bat, and its struck out on performance while sitting on the bench.
I never said you were wrong...I own both console and I totally agree that most multiplatform games are better on the 360, there's no denying it.
But you did fail to answer my question though...Nor did you provided any insight as to why you believe the PS3 has reached it's limit...
"Don't call this guy a liar when in comes to the PS3 if you are going to turn around and do the same thing concerning the 360. "
I was going to say the same thing.. talk about double-standards.. Look it up in the dictionary and you will see a picture of Aiphanes.
PS: You also forgot GRAW, Call of Duty 2, Kameo, Condemned and Lost Planet. Yes, a couple of those were on PC but we are talking about consoles here.
I wonder if existing saves might be corrupt? I would start over and see what happens.
How does it run so poorly(real problems) but score so high? wink wink...
you cannot say that!! lol!
Only 360 games should be questioned if they score high and don't run "well".
Hypocrisy at its best.
I barely experienced any probs until..the last 2hours of the game it froze on me a couple times...but overall it was an OK game...curious to see what they will do with the sequel..!! Hopefully they don't rush it through the door again to make a quick buck
Agent VX -
Look at r&c and uncharted, cod4. warhawk. They all run silky smooth.
I see your point with some games, but to state this is due to ps3 is wrong.
See the rsx in the ps3, has faster ram, faser pixel shader pipelines, then the 360, this is just fact.
Your confusing poor framerates due to rsx, when infact the problems are due to cell. Because cell uses different code, and code for spu usage. Orange box uses no spu whatsoever. so its basically running on a 3.2ghz core. And on orangebox on pc, 1core isn't really enough. Nearly every game these days needs at least a dual core to run smoothly.
Crysis needs 2xquadcore and nvidia's next gen card, g92 to run smoothly at hd res.
So before coming here and insulting us and making yourself look silly, learn alittle, will ya?
runs perfectly on my ps3. i can only imagine that xbox users have the problem ?
Any words of the US patch yet?. Recently I got multiples locks-up and I might if this "patch" could fix it along with the frame drop issue.
