Digital Foundry: Sony HMZ-T1 Personal 3D Viewer Review

At Digital Foundry, we enjoy 3D gaming but we remain unconvinced about the delivery mechanism - never mind the glasses, it's the nature of the screens themselves that we have issues with. The experience of going to the cinema and having your entire field of view consumed by the 3D image is a level of immersion far beyond what we see at home where the typical 3DTV can't hope to compete, presenting itself almost like a "window with depth" in the corner of the living room.

I'm really looking forward to this, I've been thinking of buying a 3DTV for a while now and I think this would be a perfect solution.

It may be expensive but no 3DTV in the world can offer this kind of size for the price, plus you can use it on a wide range of products and not just a PS3 (imagine using this on a computer with hdmi output...think of the possiblities :P).

I am confused - So you can not connect the goggles to any DVD or Blu Rey player and it has to be the player that it comes with.

Can I hook it up to my 360 and PS3.

I don't see why not, you plug the passthrough box into a PS3 using a HDMI cable so I don't see why you can't do the same with any product that has HDMI output.

It works like this;

Googles > passthrough box > PS3

So it should work with anything.

"The tech certainly seems like the first true replacement for the CRT"

the guy is talking about oled, and no matter how good it is, it's stupid to igniore the fact that plasma and lcd are way better than crt now...poor nostalgic donkey.
