In Defense Of Skyward Sword

Reviewing a video game these days isn’t an easy thing. If you’re not careful, publishers are less likely to advertise on your site, or sometimes, you might just get hate mail. All joking aside, there are legitimate reasons sometimes for fan backlash.

I could care less what any review says, Im loving this game =)

All I have to say is if a game like Skryim had you going from one dungeon to the next and in between all you got was "go fetch me this" side quests with the odd place here and there to climb a vine to open a treasure chest....................well it wouldn't be getting 10/10s would it, I just personaly believe the franchises name and reputation clouds peoples judgment when reviewing this game. It's like "Oh crap, this isn't as good as the last Zelda titles but I can't give it a low score look what happened with the Eurogamer 8/10 Uncharted 3 review....better just give it a perfect score incase".....I'm not saying every reviewer does this but you get the point

I've played it along with the other "GOTY" contenders and Zelda is the weakest one of them all. Yeah it looks pretty but the game really needs to change things up abit, plus without the option to play with a standard controler it made me enjoy it less.

Maybe Nintendo for trying to rely on motion control, their nostalgic rep, then not backing it up with proper support, but this try seems decent enough.

Gamespots review is completely rebutted here. His first mistake was defending his review in the first place, or rather discussing his criticisms. When that happens, it indicates there is in fact something wrong with their review.
