Kinect vs Move - one year later

It’s been a year since Microsoft launched the Kinect – which launched two months later than the Playstation Move back in 2010. Now, a year on, the gap between the two motion-sensing technologies is narrowing, and MyGaming takes a look at which system has the upper-hand - currently, and looking ahead.

I own the console but not a sensor, no games i play are really going that route yet. until they do i will not.

I wish people would stop comparing two different technologies. MS is delivering with kinect. Especially in the integration department. I don't think sony will match this. At least not this gen.

@ForROME
you know, anything will succeed if you spend 500m to advertise it, I mean anything, sony didn't spend as much on eyetoy yet they managed to sell good amount of it, the same thing happened for MOVE, they sold close to 8 million units without spending too much on ads.
MS on the other hand spent 500m to advertise Kinect and they manage to outsell Move by 2m only !

ForROME2553d ago

EYEToy? your kidding right?

Moved on is right they failed at getting people to adopt thats on SONY not the technology; SONY cant match it if they cant get people to get into it.

MOVE = Fail

"MS on the other hand spent 500m to advertise Kinect and they manage to outsell Move by 2m only!"

I take it you are referring to that article from yesterday? That article was comparing Kinect sales data from March and Move sales data from recently. Until we have updated sales data from Microsoft, making any such claims is just stupid, but then again that didn't stop loads of people doing it yesterday.

mcstorm2553d ago

You are wrong about the 500 million. Ms put that into wp7 and it only sold 1.5 million in its first 6 months so just because you pump money into something dose not mean it will be a success. Plus to say move is only 2 million behing kinect is wrong as you need 3 devices to make it work fully for one player and then another move and nav for 2 player ect so looking at hat around 70% of people who picked up move will of got enough for 2 players and thats 5 devices where kinect is only one.

It's Thanksgiving, so I'm not going to touch this one today. Happy Holidays all!

I give thanks to N4G, because it allows me to vent away my post turkey farts by commenting on articles about non-existent console add-on wars.

Jocosta2552d ago

I suppose they didnt want a happy holiday.

"Kinect vs Move - one year later"

Same thing we predicted a year ago.

Kinect is better for dance and fitness games because it can track every limb on your body...not just two balls.

Move is better for precise shooting or any gameplay element that involves good precision.

Shut up already! LOL
