Ryan of Digital Hippos writes: Downloadable content can either be a great addition to a game, or something to be reviled. On-disc DLC, or content already available on the game's original disc, is the latter.
You know, when I buy a game, I didn't just purchase the disc but everything on it. That includes those extra character outfits... *cough* Capcom *cough* Stop making me pay for what i'v already purchased you greedy bastards.
Capcom is a joke, selling colors now for outfits?
I never really got on disc DLC. Surely we buy the physical product and that includes everything on the disc
I don't have a problem with Day 1 DLC (like the Catwoman stuff for Batman: AC). I do have a big problem with on-disc DLC. They're specifically witholding stuff from the customer!
It should almost be illegal......
On disk DLC=I don't buy your game. Simple. I don't care the name either or if it's the best game ever, I won't ever fund your greedy studio. It'll ruin games for gamers first and then the publishers when they start doing it more often and people start buying less games because of it and start not buying games that pull that BS.
DONT BUY IT! simple as that. If people keep buying it then companies will keep doing it.
just wish i could buy a game and not have 2 get dlc 2paly the full game
Drama Queen Game Journalism will ruin gaming before on-disc DLC. *** You technically already bought and paid for this content -- it is on the disc.*** Learn how software works. You paid for the disc and access to the software that they said was available on the disc. The fact that they store other data on there rather than making it downloadable (this is done to keep costs down, which normally they would pass onto the users), doesn't mean you paid for that data. I have no problem if you hate on-disc DLC, but it's not going to ruin gaming or come even close to it.
Hey face it 99% of all DLC is a SCAM (taken out content). Now with that being said, DLC isn't going away EVER. So if it's not going away then you have to look at the bigger picture. On disc DLC may be better for some people that.... A: Have a small amount of room left on their hard drives. B: Have strict download caps or shoddy connection speeds. It's kinda the lesser of two evils for some. IMO it's DLC and greed that may kill gaming (on disc or otherwise). At least for me because I don't feel like I've purchased a COMPLETE game in 2 years!
