I don't know, TRL wasn't very impressive from any technical standpoint. I hope that wasn't akin to the engine.

Either way, I'm still extremely stoked for this game. Bring it on!

the engine did improve tomb raider and im also guessing that they would of tweaked it and upgraded the engine, dont worry it will still be great

I just would've prefered them using a dedicated engine for the game, especially since the TRL engine doesn't seem all that impressive. Tweaking an engine will only get you so far.

But atm, I'm in no position to discard this engine. I just have the feeling it isn't the best decision to go about this way. Hopefully, I'll be proven wrong.

Either way, even if it's only an HD version of the former installments, it'll still beat most game out there! ;)

TRL looked too good with all the next generation content on and all settings high. Here are some images from my comp.

Well, if they used the engine on the right way and give the tweaks necessary I think will be great no doubt about it.

Wonder why they chose not to use the Unreal engine again, it rocked for the first, and even though I didn't care too much for the gameplay IW's visuals were impressive once you turned down that bloom.

unreal engine tome has flaws it soothes gears of war type game which are no brainer games and dont have huge enviroments but with gams liek duex x which is a action rpg the texture load in and other us will arise duex x is an amazing game

But it was used in the first Deus Ex (Invisible War too), and more recently your beloved Mass Effect. The engine is good and always has been, but it's still up to the devs to really harness what's inside and take advantage of it.

I wish they'd finish the damn legacy of kain series damit!
as for that if they make this game like they made deus ex 2 i wont play it!

Skerj3951d ago

Man I still haven't finished Defiance, I was just thinking of doing so the other day too. Did they leave it open for a sequel at the end? Because I thought it was supposed to end the story arc for everyone.

WilliamRLBaker3951d ago

yes they left it open for a sequal I mean really open.
