Zelda Launch Draws Big Crowd in New York City

Zelda: Skyward Sword finally launched this weekend, and on Saturday at the Nintendo World Store at Rockefeller Plaza in New York, fans got a chance to play the game early and buy their copy. The store was decked out with special Hyrule items, including a very cool looking replica of the Master Sword, which fans had an opportunity to pose with for photos. There were also prize giveaways and trivia contests. The line to get into the store went most of the way down 48th street, and many customers dressed up as Link or other Zelda characters. The buzz for the Wii's swan song title was quite palpable.

There wasn't any giveaways. Maybe for the first few (I had to wait 2 hours before I could get in so prizes at 9?) but overall the event itself was a big disappointment. I heard the Mario 3D launch was better.
