It has been a week of console birthdays. Two days ago the Playstation 3 turned 5, followed by the Gamestation’s 10th birthday yesterday.
Congratulations to the Wii, a great device with so mutch potential!
I disagree, even thouhg many people do not like the wii due to the fact that it is not hd, it revolutionised gaming with motion sensing and you know it made an impact, considering th move and kinect
Wii- The console that nearly succeeded in destroying core gaming. Thank God that did not happen. Hope Wii gets discontinued
"Core" "casual" "hardcore" "mainstream" Are we talking about gaming?????
And what is "core" gaming again?
What's with all of the hate? Sure it was targeted at casuals, but it still had a number of noteworthy core titles. If you're still hating on the Wii this late into the console generation, then there is no way that you have even glanced at its library.
dont let the haters get to you they cant stand the wii has the highest rated and highest selling games on it. Not to mention its the highest selling console. Compared to the gamecube the wii was a hardcore exclusive dream
What library? 90 percent of Wii games are shovelware and so is the console itself. The Wii U is what the Wii should have been.
The Wii turned 5 at release considering it had ps2/xbox specs. So now it should really be its 10th b-day.
Specs are not fun. Games are fun and the wii had a lot of them.
Agreed, its the games that make the console. A console can have the worlds best specs bu nuless it has good games wit hit, it is useless
Madworld and Fragile FTW
There were some great games on the Wii that I enjoyed playing.
I agree with you. I have a Wii and still play it even now. I have a PS3, 360 & PC and like I said I still enjoy the Wii. Especially playing with my 4 year old.
Yeah, I just wish it had more games. I still can't wait for Zelda, and it has had some great games, but they have been to few and far between. Also, though I still love the old franchises, I wish they had a new ip this generation. Something very unique and creative, like pikmin on the gamecube.
Yup, games like zelda and mario have held the test of time. Even with other consoles, the wii is still an enjoyable experience, made even beter with the new zelda out.
Both PS3 and X360 continue to show incredible technology while Wii has been stuck for a long time going no where. Yes Wii had a few good games but being last gen, it has given everything long time ago.
Happy Birthday Wii.....now its time for your bday present : Skyward Sword !!!
If it is not for the Wii, Nintendo would have gone the way like Sega. The Wii was an important system for Nintendo even if it is not their best. Hope the best with Wii U.
You seem confused. Let me fix that. "If it is not for the DS, Nintendo would have gone the way of Sega." Check your financial reports. Portable sales were Nintendo's bread and butter for the longest time. The Wii certainly didn't hurt - but think about it. Nintendo is struggling right now and posting the worst numbers they've had in decades, yet the Wii's still selling, even though it's down. Have a look at Nintendo's financials for a couple of years. You'll see.
5 years to make a new zelda game for the console, N4g says, "Nintendo milks it's franchises too much!!!"
More like ten years old if you count how outdated the hardware is. Lo just kidding the Wii has been this generations most successful console with over 80 million Wii sold. Also Nintendo did a great job with the Mario and Zelda games on it. Congratulations Nintendo for your success. XperiaRay
Happy Birthday you white piece of addictive plastic. Skyward Sword says hello!
