MP1st - An interesting thread on the Battlelog reports some problems Xbox 360 users are experiencing when having both the HD texture pack and the Battlefield 3 discs installed onto the hard drive at the same time.
Running off of the disc. Running off of the hardware. Running off of the disc and the hardware. Wait, make up your damn minds.
ohh never mind
I miss when all you had to do was put the disk in and play.
Those were the days, man.
I agree. That's one of the reasons I started playing PS2 games more than PC. All we had to do is pop the disc in and play. No installs, patches and such, but I see how these things have enhanced our experience specially with MP gaming in terms of balancing and other tweaks.
I miss cartridges.
Was about to say that myself...
this may be why we might get a new xbox sooner then later, while i dont mind doing it for a game here n there towards the end of the 360 lifecycle, this becoming the norm is where its a real issue, so maybe a new xbox is actually on its way
Ech, who cares, there's no time to look at the scenery in either SP or MP anyway. All the SP levels are linear so tunnel vision is an advantage plus most of them are either dark or sterile environments. The "Rock and a Hard Place" mission looks great and the one where you get to sit in the back seat of a plane but not touch anything is pretty awesome. I still think Crysis 2 is the best looking 360 game so far, those MP maps were a knockout compared to BF3.
I just got crisis 2 i agree looks great i will try the bf 3 fix but to tell the truth i have both installed hadnt noticed a problem or didnt care as i was still killing folks.
I've got disk 1 and the HD pack installed and I haven't noticed a problem, then again I usually install games before I play them so, I don't know, maybe I'm missing some fabulous textures and seamless checkpoint transitions and don't even know it.
It does look a bit sharper just have hd pack installed.
LOL and the 360 has issues with textures with Skyrim installed on it. What a runny coincidence. XperiaRay
