I don't want to sound like part of the problem but it seems like she would be making it worse on herself and others.

By bringing this stuff to the public eye? I think not.

Rushing_Punch2214d ago

Yeah, I really do. My CoD clan has girls in it. No one ever gives them any issues. Trouble attracts trouble

Maybe you should visit the site, see how people with your mentality sound outside from another perspective.

People (like you) need to understand the difference between progress and provoking. Just look at the site URL IE "not in the kitchen anymore". The second you start to make a big deal about it, people act out in protest. Very similar to the logic used in the name, which is more calling attention to her being female over being a gamer.

Transversely I write for two gaming news sites. My number 2 site is ran by a woman. We have 5 female writers and 5 male writers. Most of the articles are however written by women and there is usually one in our podcast. In our total span of 9 months, 264 N4G articles and 1,067 total posts... none of the 3,375 comments have even MENTIONED one of the female writers sexistly or even called attention to it.

This being said... you reap what you sow and I refuse to feel bad for someone provoking (case in point page aka Troll hall of fame) problems.

Great article. My wife plays various games from Killzone series to Demons and Dark Souls to Red Dead Redemption to Critter Crunch and casual. I have witnessed a lot of this first hand where she has even had to leave sessions because the guys would harass her either because she was whooping them or because they wanted to hook up with her. It's definitely something that needs to be talked about more often. She is actually writing her own opinion piece around females in gaming. I think it's a very important issue.

It's the inmature kids and uneducated guys that just dont understand how to be in the presence of girls.

Edit : But also not all girls are made of sugar and spice and everything nice.
