Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception is now available worldwide and one player who was playing the latter stages of the game experienced a game-breaking glitch.
I googled "Uncharted 3 game breaking glitch" and found this vid too. Think I'll write a quick article about it also.
Weird that he's the only guy to experience and come forth with this supposed game break glitch, must be rare or we would see alot of threads on the ND forums. I personally haven't experience this after four complete plays of UC3. Simple fix, restart level. Edit: Wonder if he has a pirated version of this game since alot of people who pirated over at the psxscene are saying that it still needs eboot fixes since something missing in the eboots can cause glitches like these.
you cant pirate ps3 games
@Erudito You're not serious are you?
all games have glitches , u dont need to write an article about em , here's an easy remedy , press start , restart from last checkpoint, done
How did that break the game? Why didn't he just keep riding to the checkpoint at the end? Probably would have fixed itself. Game breaking is when you're playing the main quest of a game like Skyrim, and the guy you're supposed to talk to is stuck in a wall and you can't trigger a conversation, the only remedy being to load a save game that erases 5-6 hours of game time.
I've never experienced that glitch, but I've experienced some glitches in that chapter. After saving midway thru the convoy and reloading that save, Drake and his horse would load up in an empty screen of 'nothingness' and the sand dunes/cliffs in the background would eventually load. Salim & trucks wouldn't load and Drake would just gallop on his horse on a never-ending desert road. I'd have to restart from the beginning of the chapter and play all the way thru w/o saving to move forward with the rest of the game.
there is nothing rare about glitches in uncharted. any of them. i've experienced a myriad of glitches in these games. they are SO scripted that if you do anything just slightly out of the narrow scope of the developers, you either die, or the game breaks. i've seen the AI stop and stare, drake suddenly die, drake or enemies get stuck in environments, drake or enemies fall through the floor, enemies disappear, enemies continue to stand after dying, and so on. it's just a glitchy series. i don't know why other people don't admit they see these glitches. i guess cuz they feel they need to maintain the fable that it's a GREAT series. it's a good series...fun to play...but has a ton of flaws.
too late for this FUD never had this so called glitch
@Sub4Dis You're trying WAY too hard man, it's sad. "Maintain the fable that it's a great series" lmao go find a hobby
All he had to do was restart the level. Never heard of this glitch. Must be an incredibly rare occurrence. Kinda funny to watch happen, though. ____ @Silly gameAr, If you're going to write an article about it (and why?), make sure you're well informed.
I ran into that glitch yesterday... Only thing I had to do is restart the PS3 and everything went back to normal (however, the glitch persisted even when I restarted from the checkpoint, but a reboot solved the issue). I dunno why the media sensationalizes every God damn glitch in this game.
Doesn't restarting the level mean that the glitch broke the game? Well I do understand that its not a big problem though. @strange_evil I think the media likes to show glitches because people are interested in game glitches. Well I am anyway and I find game glitches amusing
When I say game breaking, usually I think of something that would not let you continue playing the game no matter what is done.
i dont get it, is he just talking about Drake going thour the crashing cars?! cuz if thats what hes complaining about.....-_-" "get a dam life, you must not like games if your going around looking for simple glitchs...."
Already got a platinum and sold my copy on ebay ...... Paid 60 got 50 bucks back going to get that batman game .... I seen some glitches in uc3 but none were game breaking just really annoying and shouldn't have been there.
@invenio That's impossible as Skyrim has regular autosaves. In regard to this video, probably a bad pirated copy.
game breaking my ass
@ Donald True, game breaking is when you can't even finish a game at all no matter what you do. Here, apparently from the guy's youtube, all he had to do was restart the level to continue on. Edit: @ Cynical I guess gamermint thinks that whoever said that they finished the game is not being truthful lol.
This isn't a glitch, Sully just farted.
Yeah, he's lactose intolerant and he might was forced to eat string cheese by them nappers.
too long, didn't read
A glitch Michael Bay would be proud of.
Maybe they can work on their object physics on U4? Not a horrible thing, but I can see it being kind of annoying when your losing yourself in a game like that.
The point is almost no one has experienced this issue. So it isn't really annoying to 99.99% of the gamers. As regards working on their physics, other titles should be so lucky. Of special note are the fire and sand sequences.
lol, you do know Uncharted 3 has perhaps the best physics engine: they're water, fire, and sand engine alone have yet to be surpassed, and it's all dynamic. Name a game that comes anywhere close to this.
Oh geez, I said maybe they should work on their physics a bit next time, call in the hang man! So many people on this site are so damn insecure, it's kind of sad and cute at the same time. Also I'd like to point out that "Uncharted 3 has perhaps the best physics engine: they're water, fire, and sand engine alone have yet to be surpassed." is strictly your opinion. Nowhere did I bash the game or say it was bad, I simply said they could work on issues like this for the inevitable sequel.
Compare to this fire then: Fire: http://www.youtube.com/watc... http://www.youtube.com/watc... http://www.youtube.com/watc... Saying UC3 fire physics hasn't been surpass or dynamic is a joke. 1. Will the fire pattern changes forcing you to find a different path the next 100 times u played? 2. Can you set your own fire and play around with like see how it spread depending on the wind pattern, the speed of the fire spreading depending on the materials it burns on etc.... There are much more physics in dunia engine that i haven't even mention yet (like vegetation regeneration, day night cycle, weather effects, scale, etc...) water: http://www.youtube.com/watc... sand? Don't know but it is actually not that technical to create if you actually know how it is done. It looks great aesthetically to create the mood, but technically, not really.
Care to dispute that i said about Neobasch BS? The silent disagree only showed that you guys are annoyed that i'm right and you can't do anything about it. What a joke. here is even a better video for fire: http://www.youtube.com/watc... Sure it is still not as good as real life, but easily surpass the so called "dynamic" fire in UC3 which burn in a predetermined pattern. If it is truly dynamic, i wouldn't have to take the same route every time now would I? Each games have their own up and down side to them, so play them for what they are. Hyping them to more than what they should be (trolling/bragging rights), especially when there are people who actually know their shits, just gonna make you look stupid in the end. If my previous observations are correct, someone might just start posting something BS as always and never directly dispute my argument with logical supporting evidences. Let see if it would be the same this time.
@baodeus You know you are wasting your time here right? you can prove any facts you want but at the end of the fanboyism always win, this is N4G PS3 heaven and uncharted is the holy grail of these guys, so just let them be don't waste your time here. I'm with you tho i have played all 3 uncharted and Farcry 2 and i know the facts.
maybe he should have said on consoles, far cry 2 on consoles wasnt that good, the effects were dulled down, using super dupper pc settings to prove a point is cheating a bit isnt it?
Hes right the mechanics of the fire in fc2 was awsome as a fan of the FC SERIES. Ubisoft done good job there it was very much real life like, with the parting on the flames snaping back and forth then catching abit the saw grass and to then slowly catch fire spread threw was awsome. I love uncharted i prefer uc2 mind thats me. As for water its been done many times look at cryis 2. The sand part of uncharted i found one of the best yet.
The water rushing through the ship in UC3 isn't dynamic as it's still a linear game, but when the water plays no consequence (kind of like the grenades and explosions in FC2). It is dynamic. Same for the fire and same for the sand, and if you honestly think FC2's engine has better lighting you are crazier than I originally thought. You obviously haven't played The Chateau and watched individual light beams pass and sway through branches in the tree causing different shadows to be cast every second. No, nothing like this has been done before. EDIT: And I still disagree with the fire. There was a video I watched (extra on UC3) where the designers explained how they modeled the fire and how hard it was to capture the different motions flames go through when eating up individual paint chips and wallpaper... to make it believable. They also showed the dynamics with the water you can encounter in the ship level and how each wave is different on every playthrough, and is dependent on the current. I don't feel I need to show videos to explain my position because it's cold hard fact and that won't change whether or not I upload an example. Instead, I realized this was a petty argument, said my peace, and walked out. But, because you expected a reply, I decided to give you one just so you couldn't sit on your high horse assuming I was defending my beloved UC3 or PS3 from a stupid smear campaign. I like how you guys assume I'm a part of some faction in N4G, secretly communicating with other gamers. Honestly, that's the last thing I want. Unlike others here, I have a life, which is why you didn't get a response from me since the six hours you posted. I was with family enjoying a movie: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, if you must know, and I enjoyed it even more on a second viewing. My life outside of gaming, outside of made-up bullshit fantasy wars you people come up with, is more important to me than this ridiculous argument. If you think it's better, fine. I'll still think you're crazy and continue to appreciate the efforts of studios like Naughty Dog, who try their damnedest to get people like you and me to shut the fuck up and just enjoy a game for what it is instead of blowing a stupid glitch out of proportion. Now, may I go to sleep, or is that asking too much?
