I don't think i've ever looked forward to a patch as much as this one. The improved controls and motion blur will provide a much better experience.

TopDudeMan2350d ago

"Improved controls"? You mean fixed controls? The single player was damn near unplayable because you couldn't aim.

CGI-Quality2350d ago

I'm on the campaign right this very second, as I type, and it's anything but unplayable. I can see where some of the minor complaints come from, though as I said - I've had no trouble, but "unplayable"....nah.

Silly gameAr2350d ago

Try not to over exaggerate to much now.

TopDudeMan2350d ago

But it was. It is a total nuisance. Especially for someone like me who plays on hard difficulty, because I am that familiar with the controls of the previous games and it is THAT bad. If you don't believe me, go back and play uncharted 1 or 2.

Silly gameAr2350d ago

I did notice some differences, but not enough to really hurt the gameplay. The changes definitely weren't game breaking, it didn't stop me from getting my plat. I think some people are exaggerating.

CGI-Quality2350d ago

It really isn't as bad as you say, and it certainly isn't unplayable. For the record, I have and just completed, again, both Uncharted 1 & 2 within the past 2 months and still wouldn't call the controls unplayable in Uncharted 3. They are just slower, weighted, which can be adjusted, for the most part. But saying it's unplayable is just not true.

GTRrocker2350d ago (Edited 2350d ago )

I beat the game on hard. Even if they "fix" the controls, it still won't help players that suck. There are some minor issues with the controls, but it is not as bad as people are making it out to be.

smashcrashbash2350d ago

Your joking right? How did reviewers finish the game to review it if it was unplayable as you said? I have had no real problem shooting enemies so far. The way everyone griped about it I thought that you missed 99% of the time.

MaxXAttaxX2350d ago (Edited 2350d ago )

I beat the game in Hard and Crushing with the Headshot Expert and 100 Headshots trophies.
I got a Platinum on that game within the first few days of release.
Wouldn't be able to do any of that if the controls made it unplayable.

Never heard anyone complain about that AT ALL. At least not from the people who I know played it.

TopDudeMan2350d ago

I did get 100% trophies on 1 and 2 but 3 is too hard to complete on hard because of the aiming. I am stuck on a mission which I will complete eventually but can't currently because of the aiming.

rezzah2350d ago

It really isn't that hard.

I beat the game twice already, once on normal and the second time on crushing mode.

Infact I beat the game faster on Crushing than on Normal because i already knew what I was suppose to do.

All I had to do was aim and shoot...

It takes a long time before the game registers the controls. Added to the already strange aiming system, now it takes 1 sec before the action could occur. Moving left to right in that situation would make the problem even more noticeable as the "delay" would instantly put you off.

It seems most people could catch this playing hard/crushing since it requires more precise aiming movements due to the difficulty level. I can't believe ND committed one of the biggest atrocities in gaming: Controls. No, it's not game-breaking but for this calibre it NEEDS more polish before creating the game itself. OH and fix the latency as well.

CGI-Quality2350d ago

I didn't really have any aiming issues, I just want them to add the cut-scenes to the Bonus section. One of the best things about the Uncharted franchise are it's cut-scenes, and Uncharted 3's, at least for me, are the greatest in the series, if not on the PS3 altogether (barring a few top notch one's from the first two, MGS4, & Heavy Rain).

Sugreev20012350d ago

I was about to write the same thing.I want the cutscene theater back too.I finshed the single player a week ago,and I've been busy with the multiplayer and haven't faced much of a problem so far.Not denying there isn't one either,so the aiming patch is somewhat necessary.

Braid2350d ago

Is this patch going to adress the aiming problem anyway? If so, maybe I should wait for this patch before starting the campaign.

colonel1792350d ago

You should wait. Not sure if the patch will include the fix, but if it does it will be worth the wait. I didn't enjoy it because of that. I tried to play a second play through and I quit the moment I had to shoot the first bullet (to shoot a lock.. which even that was weird to accomplish).

Wintersun6162350d ago

I'm pretty sure they released it already. At least there was some patch it installed and after that I noticed I had no problems with the aiming anymore whatsoever. Though it's possible that I just had adjusted for the weird controls by that point and that first patch was for something else.

PRHB HYBRiiD2350d ago

what about the ps3 consoles that can't run the game when will nd or sony fix that? my fat 40 gb runs the game but a friend of mine has a 160gb slim and the game doesn't play

Wintersun6162350d ago

Is this a widespread problem? That's the first time I've heard of such issue with U3.

Apocwhen2350d ago

There's a fairly large thread on the ND forums about it. Lots of people are just getting stuck on the loading screen.

Happens to one of my friends.

Infernostew2350d ago

I'd say that there's something wrong with your friend's console and not the game.

tigertron2350d ago

I'll be happy if they patch it to play like UC2.

Oh and a cutscene library!
