Today is Thursday, meaning we have another PLAYSTATION Store update. Let's take a look at what this new week brings us. Our verdict? PAIN is good, the rest is a disappointment.
They all can't be winners but calling this week's update disappointing is stretching it a bit. I remember the weeks where all we got were stupid trailers for movies that weren't even interesting. Pain and Resistance is enough for me.
Shivering Isles is available for download. But, it's $29.99!!
* Resistance: Fall of Man Map Pack #2 ($4.99) * Motorstorm Vehicle & Skin Pack ($1.99) * Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock Boss Battles Track Pack ($) * Rock Band David Bowie Pack 1 ($) Game Trailers * Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction BTS - Weapons (free) * TimeShift FPS Video 2 (free) Theatrical Trailers * Stop Loss trailer (free) Blu-Ray Disc Trailers Thats an awesome update

Ok....I wouldn't call this disappointing.....
Looks pretty good, especially PAIN. Perhaps I've confused the dates, but wasn't the Shivering Isles expansion for Oblivion supposed to go up today?
PAIN seems fun. The add-ons are great and cheap.
What happened to the rumored public beta release of Home? Oh schick, I almost forgot that today is the last day to get Everyday Shooter and other PSN titles for 1/2 off.
Everyday Shooter is a great game, but I find it rather hard to complete. I also wonder if it's possible to complete it without shooting anything.
Everyday Shooter is pretty difficult to complete. I suggest you play a lot to rack up your points. Then purchase bonus lives. Once you do that you'll play and get further into the game and acquire even more points to purchase even more lives. Soon enough you'll have enough lives to pass the game on Normal Play. You'll also have enough points to purchase the unlockables which are great.
I forgot it was half price..
no beta so its defenetly dissapoining
You know what I hate? Not only the fact that this is being put as news, but the actual store isn't even updated yet and the website this article links to doesn't have the complete list. He asks about Shivering Isles... well, if he bothered to look at the Sony website, it shows Shivering Isles under "add-ons". Right now, there seems to be some weird error after I refreshed the page and it shows the Shivering Isles pic with Oblivions info but it says Guitar Hero III as its title. It wasn't like that about 5 mins ago. lol.
I dont think it was dissapointing, but the beta would have been swwwwwweeeeeeeeeetttttttt. I WANNA GO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMEEEEEE!
Disappointing...? Where are u?....?
Exactly...like EVERY single update is supposed to be the best update of all time. You win some, you lose some...and this is also this guy's opinion. I'm download PAIN and the map pack. edit: dammit...it was supposed to be a reply to Skerj
Personally, I'll never pay for expansion packs for multiplayer games ever again. For one, there will be less people playing the expansion pack levels. They should learn from Valve (who had lived off of 1 game for 4 years), and release updated content for free, making buying the game more appealing. Getting revenues of $40+ on a game is much better than $5 on an expansion right? Not to mention consumers benefit from a larger user base and an expanded game. Valve is living proof that this business philosophy works.
i read somewhere that a bowling game was coming????????? Also, PAIN and RFOM Map Pack - sweet
there is NO multiplayer timeshift demo. WHO DECIDED TO MAKE THAT UP
shivering Isles is there too.
no Toy home? my gf is gonna kill me.
I just couldn't get used to using the tilt function. Maybe I was holding the controller wrong.
your gf will like Pain instead... My wife LOVES Super rub a dub.
Bubble for the creative innuendo.
One year later, and still sucking hard. Where's the Medal of Honor Airborne and Orange Box demos? The 360 marketplace is light years beyond PSN. If these meager offerings look good to you then you must be very accepting of mediocrity.
Orange Box demo ok, that'd be welcome. But Airborne!? You sir have bad taste.
Thanks for your esteemed input, Troll. I guess you had to keep your mouth shut on the weeks when demos for R&C and Uncharted were released, huh? Those must have been weeks when Live was "beyond" the PSN, right?
In all fairness having kept an eye on both PSN and XBLM (although admitteldy in the UK) they have both been poor over the past month. I would say however that Uncharted was the gem of the month, because i am able to access the US PSN; a very nice touch not available on my 360 with other marketplaces. Sony do need to step their PSN game up in general BUT it's not all you make it out to be on XBLM week in week out.
I was wondering if anyone played that game pain if so is it really any good? Also to UltramanJ shut up we dont got OJ box y cause Valve sux we dont got Medal of Honor cause we dont want that gay WW2 game when we r try to play COD4 and Unchated. go play Halo 2.5 i mean halo 3 r mass effec with the Crapy combat system. Srry but if anyone play pain plz tell me how it is looks soooooo fun.
Hey n4g man or whatever, This was a good update. I still have Motorstorm AND Resistance and I'm happy as hell that Sony hasn't dropped support for these games unlike other companies *cough* Microsoft *cough*. PAIN is a welcomed addition and the themes aren't bad. You guys need a new hobby rather than ripping on Sony.
ever since i saw pain, it looks crazy, kinda like jacka$s.
A start. Playstation store is pretty barren. Why doesnt PSN have any movie content? No t.v. shows nothing? And no game dashboard themes and no avatars other then the free ones you have to choose from when you sign up. I guess that's why XBL charges $50 a year. It helps pay for that content that's made available to it's users. They cant put that content on there for free you know. I guess that's why one is free & the other isnt. No offense intended. I own both of these two systems. And I'm in no way insulting the PS3 console. My remarks are just based on their online services. Cant wait till Unreal Tournament 3 comes out in December. I'll have to buy a mic. It'll be my first PS3 game I play online. I hope it's servers run smooth like XBL.
For the most part they run great. I am almost max rank in COD4 now. But as for the rest I think there is gonna be a lot released with Home. So for now its a "Wait" thing. I dont really mind much cause I got plenty of crap to tide me over but yeah. The actual online gaming part is fine imho. same quality as XBL. Pretty lag free. Rare to get spikes and such. I can't believe you dont have Warhawk though!!! Edit: For the record though I think your user name might make people feel offended a bit and think you are knocking the system even though your not... Edit 2: As far as themes goes... There are a ton DLable online atm...
I was gonna get Warhawk. But it didn't have no single player so I kinda drew away from it. But I'll probaly get it sooner or later. As far as my name goes. I'll admit I favor the 360. But I use that name mainly b/c I was a member on XBL first. And that's my name on it except I spell the three out. And at the moment thats my name on PSN too lol. Of course if people make too much of a fuss about it. I may end up changing it. Thats the one good thing about PSN. Is that you can change your user name for free. On XBL they want 800 credits to change it. And I'm not really trying to knock it. I just look at both systems online services. And I think XBL just has so much more. But again I'm not trying to knock it. I just expected more. But as I said earlier it is free. Are you a member on XBL? If you are I think you may better understand where I'm coming from. Edit: By the way I have COD4 for 360 an excellent game. But I haven't played multi player yet. Kinda been pressed on time lately. Cleared it on veteran mode though. I unlocked all 1000 achievements points too.
Yes will PM you.
Three60Crusader I'll respond to ya when I log on later.
US store refuses my credit card for pain...what a pain...
