Is is time some of the more popular gaming franchises had an overhaul? There's evidence some are undergoing transformation, but there are more seemingly sticking to their guns.
It worked well for Splinter Cell, the new Tomb Raider is looking like it has some serious potential as well.
Splinter Cell's overhaul was perfect. Loved the gritty new look.
I can't believe Ubisoft released AC:R as it is. The exact same game as Brotherhood pretty much bar some closure of the story, a hook, and the inclusion of non stealthy bombs. Sometimes change is good and the Assassin's Creed series needs it.
seriously...stop living in the past!
It's... not? I mean, RE4 was pretty drastically different than any of the previous RE games in that it was actually fun to play. RE5 took RE4 and then made it into a co-op game. I don't appreciate RE5's change, but it changed things up a fair amount in addition to all the other changes it featured. Then there are the ones for the Wii, which retell the old games as rail shooters, which is also a pretty big deviation for the series when you compare it with its roots.
urgh...wanna make me pull my hair!
Zombies Ate My Neighbors Tenchu Stealth Assasins Smash TV are three off the top of my head.
