It has been 10 years since the Gamecube was released. Capsule Computer's take a retrospective look on the little purple box and the legacy it has left behind 10 years on.
Pikmin...I'm not sure why, but I have never played a game that has quite sucked me into its world like that one. I love both of those games, and I bought the wii in full hopes it would deliver pikmin 3, but alas, it did not. The only games I can imagine that grabbed me as much as those two would be banjo kazooie and mario 64. Edit: @PhantomTommy The gamecube just had the most creative games of any generation in my opinion.
Pikmin 2 was great too, I loved the gamecube; Metroid Prime, Mario Sunshine, Windwaker, so many happy memories.
Animal Crossing was another great one that has stuck with me, I really really enjoyed it. Until you come back after a month or two and had so many damn weeds... :P :D But all the events that correspond to dates was just an awesome thing that kept it fresh always.
Mario Sunshine is underated. The levels in that game are huge and had a lot of depth.
Gamecube is balls deep
Whats with you and balls?
Pikmin is one of the only RTS games done well on a console. The Resident Evil remake to this day still looks incredible to me. Smash Bros Melee needs no introduction. I actually liked Luigi's Mansion alot. Wind Waker is my 2nd favorite Zelda. Gamecube games were far and between, but when they did come out, they delivered.
pikmin is amazinng!
Pikmin is one of the only RTS games done well on a console. The Resident Evil remake to this day still looks incredible to me. Smash Bros Melee needs no introduction. I actually liked Luigi's Mansion alot. Wind Waker is my 2nd favorite Zelda. The original Metroid Prime was done well. Gamecube games were far and between, but when they did come out, they delivered without question. Mostly the same feeling I had with Dreamcast. Other than perfect arcade ports and multiplatform games, when Dreamcast had something exclusive, the games turned out better than you could expect.
gotta agree.. gamecube had such a great games... Pikmin 1 & 2, Luigi's mansion, Viewtiful Joe 1 & 2, Killer 7, Wind Waker, Twilight princess, Eternal darkness, Metroid prime 1 & 2, RE4, RE:0, RE:make ..and others.. :) I love that console..
Oh yeah duh...how could I forget Viewtiful Joe and Eternal Darkness and RE Zero. So many great games.
Gamecube... HA! Sorry, I lol'd.
How do you like the taste of sony semen?
Lmao I literally bursted out laughing.
Lol at disagrees. It seems like there is a following for systems that fail. Lots of Dreamcast and Gamecube fans. In reality the systems failed but they had a select few great games.
There once was an ugly fanboy. He was so ugly that everyone died. The end.
bounkass your dumb as shit
Im buying a Wii in a week and I cant wait to bust on some Game Cube games. Though I have to get the older ones sense Nintendo removed Backwards capabilities on the new models. Have no idea why. Anyway I cant wait to play the thousand year door!
Yeah, I'd buckle up for the Mario edition one, that one's pretty sweet looking.
The one red that comes with nsmbw? That's the one I have. Also, paper mario ttyd is awesome. One of my favorite gc games. Can't wait for paper mario 3ds
The gamecube is one of my favorite consoles, had so many great and unique games. I wish nintendo hadn't abandoned core gamers with the wii, but they didn't have much choice considering how the gamecube sold.
The Gamecube was easily my favorite console last gen, all those hidden gems I found; Skies of Arcadia, Baten Kaitos, Tales of Symphonia...memories.
I remember getting the mario sunshine bundle...i miss the gamecube days. They were the best!
Absolutely loved the GC. F-Zero GX is the game I played for ageeeeeessssssssss....
Gamecube and N64..my favourite consoles.. Miss the old days playing Wind Waker..so epic :)
Absolutely my favourite console ever. Still have it at home.
Resident Evil 4 and Mario Kart: Double Dash highlights my GC memories. Double Dash took a while for me to warm up to, especially the switch to flying blue shells.but in the end i loved it. Mario Kart Wii on the other hand.... :(
Double Dash was easily the best of the series.
My favorite would have to be the ds one (although I am more of a handheld gamer anyway...). Double dash was pretty good, but I played and enjoyed the ds Mario kart quite a bit more.
