If Only Xbox Japan Was as Popular as This Girl

Rena Matsui isn't the one percent. She's the less than one percent. As far as idols go, she's quickly shot to the top of the group she belongs to, SKE48. No wonder Microsoft roped her into promote Kinect in Japan.

Shame that didn't exactly work out.

The story is too old to be commented.

The thing is that none of the AKB48 sister groups are remotely as popular. While Matsui is gaining popularity, it may not have been the best choice for MS to go with SKE.

Is it just me or does she look like Kaz Hiari with longer hair?

PlayStation and Nintendo already had good reputation in Japan. They are both Japanese consoles as-well. It would be very difficult for Microsoft to get good sales I think. But i am no expert.

Why does Xbox have to be successful in Japan? Success isn't something that is guaranteed or given freely. Microsoft tried their best, but they failed to gain ground in Japan. Has that ruined their business? No, but it is a failure. If nothing else they should try and learn from it and make adjustments for future attempts, and that's from someone who doesn't even own a 360.

However, I would be happy to have the opportunity to have dinner with Rena Matsui, if I could only be so lucky.
