For those Xbox 360 owners out there, GameZone is summarizing this years top games in one list. Here we go counting down the Top 10 critically acclaimed 360 games of 2011:
No BF3 or MW3..? Bad Grant! :(
Hey, these are statistics, not personal opinion! Metacritic is a force unto itself!
MW3 has 89%, BF3 has 84% (much higher than it should)...
I don't get why people don't like BF3. I find it enjoyable. SP wasn't the greatest but who cares...it's all about MP.
They don't like it because they suck at it, like this guy. http://www.youtube.com/watc...
Lol, that video is hilarious. Typical CoD player xD *shoots with hip fire and gets killed* "OMG I SHOT THAT GUY!" Easiest way to spot one of those CoD players is if they spray their gun like there's no tomorrow, or shoot from the hip constantly. No skills, lol.
lol thats elpresedor, he doesnt suck he just trolls youtube, along with shokio, mld and the rest
Much higher than it should. Are you referring to MW3? I hope so, because that's what I agreed with.
My current favourite games; Skyrim and Rayman Origins make the grade. That's awesome.
Excellent games! I still wanna play Rayman Origins. Skyrim's just too intense for me...
Limbo has 90% on 360, with 89 critics... :D
This list doesn't include Arcade titles, only boxed, Xbox 360 games.
LIMBO is a 2010 release though.
Limbo is 2010
Reasonably what I would have expected to see. I was a little suprised to see Skyrim already at #1, but its a good game, so I guess it deserves that position.
In before "OMG EIGHT OF THOSE GAEMZ ARE MULTIPLATZ"... Anyway, all of the listed games are great and must be played by everyone...
At least 8 of them can be played by everyone :)
ha ha... see what he did there :)
i was just thinking that lool this article could almost be called 'Top 10 Most Critically Acclaimed 'multiplat' Games of 2011
Deadspace 1 > Deadspace 2.
Not played part 2, the demo kinda put me off. Not sure why.
I would still give it a play through but based on the grounds that you RENT the game.
Dead space one was more scary and had better atmosphere. Dead space 2 was just an action games with no scares
why not FPS other than GOW3? Kind of biased towards Xbox 360. MW3 and BF3 are way better.
"Critically acclaimed" <-- key word being critically. "Biased towards Xbox 360" shake my head
10 games...only 2 of them are X360 exclusives...that's sad :(
Yeah because games being none exclusive somehow make them less enjoyable tard. Or are we meant to rejoice in the fact that people with other platforms cant play a game we enjoy?
Why the nerd rage man? Console exclusives usaly have a quality about them that makes them stand out from the multi platform games on consoles. It would be nice if we got more of em on the X360, it has been a dry periode a while now. While the PS3 have had a realy good year.
@_LarZen_ What "quality" do exclusive games have that makes them "stand out"!? Other than catering to stupid fanboy wars? Face it, 2011 just proved the opposite: multiplatforms like Skyrim, Batman and Portal are more critically acclaimed than high profile exclusives like Gears, Uncharted and Zelda. And the sad truth is that both the PS3 and the X360 managed to push only 2 exclusive titles each that topped the 90 mark. On top of that, if you take a look at the top 10 PS3 games in 2011 you'd find just 2 exclusive games there as well (LBP2 and Uncharted 3), and 4(!) games which are basically ports/remakes that were available to other platforms before (Mass Effect 3, MGS collection, ICO collection): http://www.metacritic.com/b... So if the top 10 games list is what you base your "a realy good year" statement, then you probably need to reconsider...
humbleopinion for me i dont think the games that score over 90 are the only games worth mentioning. I enjoyed infamous 2 and there was NO alternative that bettered it critically. Same with yakuza 4. I enjoyed resistance 3 over crysis and killzone 3 but they were all enjoyable. For this ultimately its down to preference. The ps3 had a better year just from numbers alone which means its exclusives whether they scored over 90 or not made the difference. The balance is not lording then or downplaying exclusives too much, They are NOT the be all and end all but they are definitely NOT unimportant.
So then what's the point of this article saying "Xbox 360 games" when 8 of them are on other platforms??? You might as well just take the 360 part out of the title. But then I guess half the games wouldn't make it on because you'd have to make room for the exclusives. There's nothing wrong with games being multi-platform, but when you're going to talk about "Xbox 360 games" you should have some that are actually "Xbox 360 games." I know the 360 likes to advertise multiplats like they're their own games, but come on...
@Why o why: I'm obviously not saying that only games with 90 upwards are worth mentioning, but when talking about the top 10 games for a console this year 90 is about the mark you need to get inside the list. LarZen was only referring to that top 10 list and based his entire "dry period" claim on that so I think it's only fair to compare apples to apples. I myself loved Infamous 2 - sandbox games are my favorites and topping that with superhuman abilities is a blast. I also loved Spider Man, Crackdown and Prototype. But actually saying that no other game from the same genre topped it critically!? Batman AC is just this open world superhero type of game and it's sitting right at the top of the 2011 list. This is how things work: Infamous and Yakuza have to compete on our wallet both with each other as well as with Saints Row 3 and Asssassins Creed Revelations and with Dead Island and with Batman. Same goes for the overcrowded shooter spaced because Resistance 3 and Killzone 3 also have to compete with each other as well as with Modern Warfare 3, Deus Ex, Battlefield 3, Crysis 2, Dead Space 2, Gears 3, Bulletstorm, Rage, FEAR 3, Homefront - and that's just from the top of my head. I'm not even talking the digital download space that nowadays is up to such high standards it can actually compete with retail games. So as you said: its down to preference. But except for perhaps the minds of most zealot fanboys exclusives don't live in a void. multiplatform games compete with them and often surpass them, and if you have enough money for about 10 games a year (which is a decent number) then you need to make your priorities. Personally I think that 2011 was a very good year for both the Xbox 360 and the PS3, but in both cases it's mostly the non exclusives that count for over 80% of the content and made this year so awesome.
And one is the new king of racing games :)
