Why You Can't Get Your Hands on a Wii

Brace yourself for another cranky Christmas, when hopeful children get up early only to discover there's no Wii under the tree.

You know what I am talking about. That Nintendo is driving demand by purposely creating shortages.

Nintendo has increased production of the Wii by almost a million a month so how in the world are they holding back? Nintendo is a very smart company. Holding back is bad business.

Increasing monthly Wii production to 3 or 4 million is not as easy as you think. It's much more complicated than that. Not you nor Nintendo anticipated that the Wii would be so hot even after 1 year after release.

Clearly you chose that username because, unlike the dumbfvcks around here, you can see BS when someone sprays it all over your face.

Have a bubble.

You guys really don't see this, do you?

Look at the sales figures for the PS3, 360, and Wii.

How hard is it to produce as many Wii's as PS3's or 360's??? hard?

if PS3 and 360 are selling as fast and constantly like the Wii, Sony and MS would have some shortage problems too.
plus MS and Sony, dont they have different factory's for making their consoles?

I bet they sure love their hype.

oh see graphics dont matter so we will sell you a tweak game cube with a stupid gimmick with 90s technology and makes losts of profits out of it.

or how about we send 100s per month and get the hype around the thing is sold out.

my favorite our cheap POS last gen. gube was outselling a $600 system.

kidtendo sucks i hate them with passion.

ChickeyCantor3886d ago

with a passion you say,*tabs chin* uhmmmm interesting.
You are so obsessed with it, makes me wonder......are you interested in the Wii? you can tell the one will judge you.

Nintendo didn't know, 5 years ago, that Sony's next console would sell more slowly than the Gamecube in their first years.

However, they did learn something Sony did not, for some reason. In two generations, Sony won with the weakest, or, as you call it, "last gen" console.

Now, we know you hate Sony and Nintendo for combining to make the last gen consoles three generations in a row (2 from Sony, 1 from Nintendo), but you have to admit, it seems to work out well. The average consumer doesn't need the best graphics or high end technology. Sony proved it twice with two last gen systems in a row, and now Nintendo made the weak console this time that's selling well.

I don't see why you can't accept that there is nothing wrong with this, when the power of even the PS1, PS2, and Wii have all been powerful enough for the generation they were in.

but it works.
they seem to be doing something right.

you know at first i was sure the 360 was gonna take a pretty good beatin this christmas but knowing now that the ps3 outsold the 360 for 2 weeks straight is really interesting to me.

the ps3 is already outselling the 360 by over 30,000 a week in europe and when singstar comes, it will outsell it by over 60,000 a week.

and when grandturismo prolouge comes for japan, it will sell again around 50,000 units a week and the ps3 is behind in america by about 50,000 a week but with sony having europe and japan, it still outsells the 360 worldwide.

i still get the feeling the ps3 will get outsold by the 360 BUT i sure as hell know its not gonna be 2 to 1.
more like maybe only by 100,000 sales.

I bought my son a Wii in August because I knew this would happen. If you are one of those who can't find one I feel for and I didn't mean to rub in. The demand for the Wii is incredible. I can't believe how well it is selling. I guess if everyone can't get a Wii this Christmas it will only help the PS3 and 360 sales, at least thats what Sony and Microsoft is banking on. That's better than spending $700 for a Wii on ebay.

Not really sure about this.
Over here in Sunny South Africa, the Wii's are gathering dust on shelves... Maybe because they are more expensive that the 360 arcade over here? (and 360 arcade ships with 2x 360 classic games).
So if you want one for xmas, come to Africa for a holiday and pick one up. :-)
