"Lord of the Rings: War in the North might not feature the characters and lore that you're accustomed to when referencing most things related to J.R.R. Tolkien's highly regarded tale of the War of the Ring. For the most part it strays away from the events surrounding Frodo and his Fellowship and focuses on events - you guessed it - to the north. But the plot doesn't suffer because of that. The writing and dialogue are pretty strong throughout, and while it does have a tendency to name drop very specific characters from the already established LOTR universe, I think it manages to blaze its own path."
