The actual gameplay mechanics are simple, but repetitive. There is a set move list, but rarely will you find time to execute a specific move, when you’ve got an opponent throwing hits at you. I like to describe these games as “button-bashing terrors”. Fighting games are mainly moving away from this, instead, they are becoming timely skillful fighters like Street Fighter or Marvel vs. Capcom.
