Interview: Kazunori Yamauchi Talks Gran Turismo And Realism In Racing Games

Complex Magazine: During my first night in Las Vegas for the 2011 SEMA Show, I had the pleasure of meeting Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi. Like me, he's just arrived in Vegas today, though his trip was a good deal longer.

The game creator-cum-race car driver has a light and relaxed mood about him as he shakes hands and chats with everyone in a suite on the 61st floor of the Cosmopolitan Hotel. On occasion, he steals away to the balcony on his own to take a phone call or overlook the Bellagio fountains below. In between drinks, we sit down to have a chat, with the admirable assistance of his translator. (Gran Turismo 5, Industry, Kazunori Yamauchi, PS3)

Finished updating GT5? I hope that doesn't mean the update this December is the last.

I was really, REALLY interested in this, since Kaz is an amazing guy whose love for games really shows in the products.

But I'm still not gonna flip through 6+ pages for a text interview.

it's not a book. it's small.

It'd make more sense if it was a book. To have one paragraph on one page is too much.

Sorry, but I'll give your page hits if I like your site. I'm not gonna give you hits for doing cheap shit like breaking up an interview that only took up one page and spreading it over six pages.

Hell, it even looked like it was well-written, too, a rarity these days.
