Kotaku's Assassin's Creed Impressions

Kotaku writes: "Let's keep this brief. I think Assassin's Creed is a poor game built on a great engine. Which when you tally up the averages leaves us with something very...average. Confused? Let me explain.

Ubisoft have nailed Altair. Nailed him. Nailed the game world, too, while we're at it. It's not often you get to play a game where your character is so responsive to your commands, and is so firmly attached to their surroundings. Altair doesn't float, he doesn't skip awkwardly between animations, he feels heavy, solid and real. It's a joy to simply run around a town, skipping over rooftops".

The story is too old to be commented.

I agree 100% (I own the game for the Xbox 360).

Everyone who actually PLAY/ED the game must have the same point of view.

Doing the same over and over again pretty much annoys the hell out of you. You do EXACTLY the same for every Assassination. Don't get me wrong, it is fun, but with so much potential, Ubisoft could have made a far greater game, some kinda "achiever".

Me too, i've never been so amazed by a game world and then so disappointed by the repetitiveness of missions and dialogue. There's scope for a fantastic sequel though . . .

yap, the overall story was interesting i thought, the game world, combat animation etc is all top notch and what i really expected, but the way the missions play out and the submissions.... leave a lot to be desired.

lets hope ubi, take the good with the bad and make a truly great sequel. i still think its a great game and everyone should give it a go, but they could have done a lot more with the missions and the way things take place.
