Wii: 650,000 Sold in Two Weeks

Nintendo of America revealed on Tuesday that it had sold upward of 650,000 Wii consoles in the last two weeks -- a figure that accounts for only half of November sell-through and yet still surpasses October's final tally. According to the Nintendo, it moved 350,000 systems last week and 300,000 the week prior, which makes the period the second-best performer since the console launched.

Unbelievable sales. No wonder Nintendo is having such a hard time matching demand with supply.

Blasphemy3583d ago

Agreed. I don't understand where the systems came from though if Nintendo is only able to produce 1.8 million per Wiis per month. Where retialers holding systems for black friday?

There goes another N4G conspiracy theory, because if Nintendo had actually been hoarding Wiis this past year they could have taken down launch records without breaking a sweat.

The stores and nintendo. It was obvious Nintendo has been holding back some supplies for this holiday all year...no one thought the drops in sales were from lack of demand, did they?

Only because it's $250.00. If the PS3 was $250.00 It would be breaking those records. But with the RSx chip being reduced to 45mm expect another major price drop from Sony this spring. $299.99 PS3
