AusGamers The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Review

AusGamers has reviewed The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and issued their first ever perfect score for a game in the process.

From the review:

"The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is, in my humble opinion, a perfect game. It’s the first game in nearly 14 years as a videogame journalist I’ve ever given a perfect score to, and despite its flaws (of which there are a few), it delivers on so many varying and engaging levels, it really is unparalleled. Simple things like moving from one destination to another quickly become a day-long event in the real-world, because you’re constantly peaking over each knoll, tree-line or riverbed to make out whatever it is that’s invariably caught your periphery. Moreover, almost all of these points of interest become major moments in the game, from a player’s perspective, in that whether or not they have anything to do with the main quest-line is irrelevant. What matters is the exploratory experience, and this is something Skyrim has in absolute spades..." (PC, PS3, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Xbox 360) 10/10

a first for ausgamers
If this game impressed them enough to get a perfect score in light of other highly anticipated games this year....it has to be worth it.

So many quality games released recently. Its like the summer blockbuster movie season but for games and in fall.

I loved Fallout 3 and NV, do you think I would like Skyrim as well? I realize its a different universe, but is the gameplay similar enough? I haven't kept track of this game at all. I've only seen the trailer on tv and that doesn't tell me anything.

if you like...
the style and gameplay of fallout then you would like this. If you are unsure, you can probably find Oblivion for real cheap and check that one out. It is a throwback to the 2006 era of games but dont let that stop you from playing it.

Very open and expansive.
